The Cast for Netflix’s adaptation of The Witcher has been finalized

The Polish Fantasy writer, Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher, is being adapted into a television series by Netflix. The main cast has recently been finalized after Freya Allan and Anya Chalotra were casted for Ciri and Yennefer respectively.

As we all know, The Witcher became a staple in pop-culture through the video game adaption of the series by the Polish video game publisher, CD Projekt. The video game series currently has a total of 3 games – The Witcher, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Wild Hunt received universal acclaim as one of the best role-playing games ever made, getting a minimum score of 9/10 in most of the distinguished game review websites.

The Cast:

Netflix is bringing in some of the big names from Hollywood for the TV series. Henry Cavill will be portraying Geralt of Rivia who is the central character and the protagonist for The Witcher. Geralt was forced to undergo training at a young age and became a Witcher at Kaer Morhen. As a Witcher, he travels the Continent and makes a living by hunting monsters that plague the land.

Anya Chalotra will portray Yennefer who is Geralt’s soul-mate. She is a sorceress and the youngest member of the Supreme Council of Sorcerers. Yennefer is one of the main characters of The Witcher saga.

Freya Allan will portray Ciri, the princess of Cintra and the adopted daughter of Geralt and Yennefer.

Jodhi May will portray Queen Calanthe – Ciri’s Grandmother.

Adam Levy will portray Druid Mousesack who is a good friend and advisor to Queen Calanthe.

Mimi Ndiweni will portray Fringilla Vigo who is a sorceress from Nilfgaard.

The producer of the popular TV series, Daredevil, will be running the show along with Alik Sakharov who was the cinematographer for Game of Thrones.

Fans are waiting for a release date as the cast has now been finalized.
