Valve released a very handy feature today, exclusively available only for Dota Plus users. It’s called the Dota Pro Circuit companion app, and it helps you keep track of the Dota Pro Circuit from your mobile! In this article, I will be covering all the perks provided by this app.
Custom News Feed
Tag your favorite teams and players to feature them prominently in your News Feed. You’ll get real-time updates on match results, roster changes, and upcoming matches. You can even check out player profiles for more in-depth info on team history along with achievements and earnings for the current DPC season.
This is a great feature, allowing you to easily keep track of all your favorite teams. Getting real-time updates on your favorite team’s matches and roster changes is very convenient. Previously, if you wanted this sort of information through your mobile, you would have to go to the Liquipedia website, which can be a little bit of a hassle on a phone. You can also check official player profiles and team history through this app, which is very handy.
Predictions
Test your powers of prediction by correctly choosing the winner of any DPC match no matter where you are. Back up your call by wagering your personal Shards.
The Dota Pro Circuit Predictions system got a huge quality of life update, as you can do it from your mobile phone now. The previous system allowed you to make predictions for Battle Pass points through a webpage created by Valve @dota2.com/predictions. Seems like Valve is letting go of that concept and replacing it with the newly upgraded mobile version, which lets you make predictions for Shards instead of Battle Pass points.
In this version, you can wager your shards on a particular team’s victory. If your prediction is correct, you will receive shards based on the odds of the bet – The odds are determined by the total number of predictions made by all the participating Dota Plus users for each team. If your prediction is wrong, you will lose all the shards that you wagered.
The Fantasy Challenge
Don’t just watch the DPC, field your own team of champions in the Fantasy Challenge. Build your roster and compete against your friends and the entire world to score the most points.
The Dota Pro Circuit companion app also brings The Fantasy Challenge for Dota Plus users. This is very similar to the Battle Pass Fantasy system that we are all familiar with. The only difference here, is that you will be receiving Shards instead of Battle Pass points, if your selected roster ‘outperforms the rest of the competition.’
Tournament Info
The Tournament tab is your home for info on every Dota Pro Circuit event. In addition to overall DPC standings, you can find details on participating teams, event standings, and match details—including a net worth graph, hero stats, and more. As a Tournament progresses, you’ll have access to updates on Group Stage and Playoff matchups with complete results.
Quite self-explanatory from the transcript, this feature allows you to get complete info on all DPC tournaments. Features like net worth graph and hero stats are also available, which is extremely handy.
Match Details
The Dota Plus companion app helps ensure you never miss a minute. In addition to match details from previous series, you can also follow along with live games, letting you keep up with all the action as it happens—even when you can’t watch.
In case you aren’t able to watch the games, The Dota Plus companion app’s ‘Match Details’ feature allows you to keep track of all the live games. Features like Live Minimap, Networth Graph, Match Info, Picks & Bans, Team Lineup are all available through this feature.
