Vainglory is a MOBA that was only one mobile phones yet, but it has finally been released on Steam for Windows and Mac gamers. One of the best features of this is that the game has cross-play. That means the the players on PC can play with or against the players on iOS devices and Android devices. This news was recently announced by the developers of Vainglory, Super Evil Megacorp.
Super Evil Megacorp CEO, Kristian Segerstrale said,
Super Evil Megacorp is comprised of AAA gaming veterans who believe in letting all gamers play together in beautiful, responsive and deep experiences, whichever their native platform or control mechanism. By insisting on gameplay parity across billions of mobile phones, PCs, consoles, next-generation hybrid devices and more, we are building toward a vision where gamers can play and be competitive with anyone, anywhere.
Vainglory 4.0 also comes with many more major updates
These major updates include the brand new cross-platform user interface, a new friends hub, in-game text chat and entirely new style of counter focused gameplay. Also, the update has made a new hero available called San Feng. The 5v5 mode is now shifted to be the primary game mode. Other updates include:
- A roster of 48+ heroes with unique combos and play styles.
- A river that accelerates movement speed in the direction of flow, and a lane pushing dragon objective that helps compress the macro game to 25 minute matches.
- A unique “adrenaline” mechanism providing attack speed boosts from accurate stutter stepping, rewarding mechanical mastery.
- Ability overdrives and build flexibility allowing for multiple play-styles and situational builds for each hero.
Q. Wang, game director for Vainglory and co-founder of Super Evil Megacorp, quoted,
We’ve been testing cross-platform play the last few months, and even included a PC vs. Mobile exhibition match during the 2018 Vainglory Premier League World Invitational last year. The mobile team won by a far margin, but this year we look forward to Steam players showing us what they’ve got!
It will be exciting to see if the developers can keep their promise of parity and how the PC gamers receive this award winning MOBA.
