5 | DeMoN (c) |
Coming in from the second qualifiers, TNC were the first team to make it to big stage from SEA regional qualifiers, en route to which they upset big names in SEA dota. Before TI6 qualifiers, Tnc participated in many small scale SEA tournaments and had ended in decent places, they were 2nd placed in BTS SEA #4 losing 2-0 to Fnatic, and they also were 2nd in WCA2016 SEA qualifiers, in short nothing great to brag about. However that was all to change, as they owned in SEA group stage with immaculate drafting and almost flawless execution as they ended 7-2 in the SEA group. In the tie breaker for 1st position, they would go on to defeat Fnatic and Execration to make it to Seattle. Everyone is curious to see how they will fare against the big boys from other regions.

From the region which is developing ever so fast in Dota scene, comes a team that is one of the biggest names in it. Fnatic have always stayed amongst the top teams in the world ever since its inception. Pre-invites of TI6, they had ended in 5-6th in Manila Major and they were eliminated in the first round itself in ESL 2016, which may have been a reason for them not to get a direct invite. It came as a little surprise nonetheless. But they came back strong in TI6 qualifiers in SEA region. Although being the best team (on paper) in the lot, they lost first place to their Pinoy rivals TNC. Post ti6 qualifiers, they performed well in the I-league Starladder 2, and they ended 3rd being eliminated by Navi in the Loser Bracket finals. This team of amazing individuals loved SEA can be a contender in the title race.

Team Secret
Current Roster
Position | Name |
1 | Eternal Envy |
2 | Arteezy |
3 | Bulba |
4 | Puppey (c) |
5 | PieLieDie |
Team Secret is a team that has had a few roster changes, a few too many times. And with players ping ponging around with EG, secret thought they landed the perfect team entering the manila major. And why not, they had one of the best players in all positions. The great EE sama, the boy wonder of EG arteezy (before the other boy wonder of EG), arguably the best offlaner Universe and one of the most experienced captain Puppey. But things took a turn for bad as the all star team failed to put up a show in Manila Major and instantly decided to call it quits. Due to the last minute roster change, they were not invited to TI6 and had to go through open qualifiers. This dint stop them though as they ripped through the open qualifiers unscathed and they took the first place in EU qualifiers. They also ended second in Starladder I-league 2 showing that they are prepared for Seattle. Team Secret will definitely be a team to watch.

Current Roster
Position | Name |
1 | MP |
2 | QO |
3 | Forev |
4 | Febby |
5 | DuBu (c) |
Mvp.Ph has consistently been one of the best SEA teams for a long time. It was hardly a surprise that they got direct invite to the main stage. And the expectation to dazzle the audience is always on them being the only team to get direct invite from SEA. Some of their notable lan victories this year are Dota pit season 4 and We Play Dota season 3. Mvp.Ph are known for their versatility in drafts and their vast hero pool shows that they are comfortable pulling off any whacky draft. Their early game aggression, combined with the ability to make sensible late game decisions make Mvp.PH one of the top teams in TI6.

Current Roster
Position | Name |
1 | Aggresif |
2 | Maybe |
3 | Xiao8 (c) |
4 | Banana |
5 | MMY
|
LGD is one of the strongest Chinese teams in the tournament. Having one of the best midlaners Maybe, LGD made it till top 3 in last year TI. And now having borrowed Aggresif, the carry from CDEC who were runners up at the same event, LGD has really found their stride.Sadly their star support player Sept cannot make it to ti because of visa issues, and hence he will be replaced by Banana. They have constantly managed to keep in par with the rest of the world when Chinese dota scene was considered as a slowly evolving scene. Considering that LGD and Newbee are the only Chinese teams to have received a direct invite, it will be interesting to see how far they might fare, but LGD potentially has the necessary talent and experience to upset any team on their hayday.
[divider type=”thin” spacing=”25″]Natus Vincere
Current Roster
Position | Name |
1 | Ditya Ra |
2 | Dendi |
3 | General |
4 | Artstyle (c) |
5 | Sonneiko |
Probably one of the oldest organisation in Dota 2 history, Natus Vincere has had the record to reach finals 3 times in a row and win one of them. They have had 2 rough years of roster shuffles, rough patches, and even a disband at one point. However, that is all in the past as Navi is definitely back in the scene now more than ever. They have managed to exceed expectations at tournaments like manila major and ESL one Frankfurt where they were the runners up, which got them a direct invite to Seattle. Now navi, having won the Starladder I league and 4th placed in Summit 5, Navi is on a high roll and it is ready to reclaim the aeges.
[divider type=”thin” spacing=”25″]Team Liquid
Current Roster
Position | Name |
1 | Matumbaman |
2 | Fata |
3 | Mind control |
4 | Kuroky (c) |
5 | Jerax |
From the scene dominated by EU teams, Liquid is definitely one of the teams which are feared by other teams. Having a German captain, they have the discipline and the efficiency of a German organisation. They have a knack of getting noticed in every lan event they go. They have impressive lan victories to their name like EPICENTER, and also being runners up in 2 Majors. Liquid is definitely looking like a very strong team and a solid contender for TI6.
[divider type=”thin” spacing=”25″]Wings Gaming
Current Roster
Position | Name |
1 | Shadow |
2 | bLink |
3 | Faith_bian |
4 | Innocence (c) |
5 | iceice |
What started off a small Chinese team with no actual big names, Wings gaming quickly made the world notice it. They were soaring high when they defeated Liquid 3-0 and took ESL one Manila 2016. Everyone expected Wings to perform spectacularly in Manila Major. The English caster and people had voted Wings in their top 4, but sadly they disappointed everyone when they failed to even cross the group stages and they took the 13th place. They have regrouped from that humiliating tournament run and they seemed to have rectified their errors as they are on an all time high now. Performing spectacularly in Nanyang and also winning Summit 5 after defeating one of the best teams in the world currently (OG). Wings gaming has never been more ready for the aegies.
[divider type=”thin” spacing=”25″]Newbee
Current Roster
Position | Name |
1 | Hao |
2 | Mu |
3 | Kpii |
4 | Kaka (c) |
5 | chuaN |
Newbee is definitely one among the most dominant teams in the scene right now. With Hao and Mu who were in the former Newbee team that won TI4 and Chuan who was in the IG team that won TI2, Newbee seems to not lack experience in winning the aegies. Newbee are known for their precise gameplay, thought-out and well versed ganks, And almost flawless gameplay. The current Newbee team has performed very well in almost all the lan events they enter. With Nanyang 2016 title under their belt, Newbee is eyeing towards the coveted TI6 title.
[divider type=”thin” spacing=”25″]OG
Current Roster
Position | Name |
1 | Notail |
2 | Miracle |
3 | Moon |
4 | Cr1t |
5 | Fly |
When OG first entered scene as an underdog team which made it to the finals of Frankfurt major upsetting some major teams, many people had predicted that the team would go on to dominate the scene. And rightly so, after their first major victory, it took no time for OG to make a name in the scene. They would go on to win the dream league and end up as runners up at The Defense. They had a rough patch at around the time of Shanghai major where they ended up 8th position. But after that they just ran rampant and were on a hot title winning streak one of which was Manila Major making them the only team to have won 2 Majors.Team OG is definitely one of the most crowd favourite teams right now and also arguably best team in the scene.
