Formed in 2015, OG is an Esports organization based in Europe. Even though the team was founded just 3 years ago, there have been lots of roster changes.
OG’s current roster:
- ana
- Topson
- 7ckingMad
- JerAx
- N0tail
In contrast to their reputation as the 4-time Major winning beasts, OG had a horrible run this season. After having a series of disappointing performances in the DPC tournaments, s4 and Fly (former members of the team) shockingly left the team and joined EG. OG had to pull out of the China Supermajor as they didn’t have a complete team. With little to no time left for TI open qualifier to begin, OG brought in Topson and ana to complete their roster. N0tail had to switch from the carry role to Position 5.
OG handily beat every team that faced-off against them in the EU qualifier, dropping only 2 games in the entire tournament, securing their spot at TI8.
About the Squad:
Originally a HoN player, N0tail transitioned from HoN to Dota 2 in early 2012 with Fnatic. N0tail was a support player in Fnatic, hence when ana came back into the team, he did not have a big problem switching from Carry to Pos 5. After Fly left for EG, N0tail stepped in and became the captain of the team. Known for his ecstatic personality and humor, N0tail is one of the most loved players in the Dota community.
Ana is a young player from Australia. He got recognition when he beat Newbee as a substitute player for IG’s Ferrari_430 at NEA2016. After TI6, he joined OG and won the Boston Major in 2016 and Kiev Major in 2017.
Topson is a Finnish pubstar, mostly known for his Meteor Hammer build on Invoker. He barely has any competitive experience but he has managed to carry his team through the EU qualifier for TI8.
A long time veteran in the Dota scene, 7ckingMad has played for around 15 teams in his career. His last team was Kaipi which he left in early 2016 and joined OG as their coach. He was OG’s coach for 2 years and after Resolut1on’s departure from the team, he stepped in as their offlane player.
Jerax is one of the best supports in the Dota scene. His Earth Spirit was considered the best in the world and many pros mentioned that they learned the hero, looking at Jerax’s replays. During the TI6 reshuffle period, he left Team Liquid and joined OG.
Even though OG had a disastrous year, they managed to pull themselves up and qualified for TI8. Though they only recently brought in Topson and ana, they had good chemistry in the EU qualifier. It would be interesting to see if OG can stand-off against the favorites for TI8 like Virtus.pro and PSG.LGD.
