Founded in 2013, TNC is a professional Esports organization of Philippines internet cafe chain TheNet.Com. TNC has two Dota teams under its banner, TNC Predator and TNC Tigers. Unfortunately, TNC Tigers were not able to qualify for TI8. In this article I will be covering TNC Predator.
TNC Predator’s current Dota 2 roster:
The team’s final roster got fixed after Armel joined the team on January 30th 2018. The team didn’t qualify for many of the DPC tournaments during the mid-season but they qualified for the last few tournaments in which they had a decent run. They finished 4th at DAC 2018 and 7-8th in both the MDL Changsha Major and the China Supermajor.
TNC Predator qualified for TI8 through the SEA qualifiers. They looked really strong throughout the qualifier, only losing 3 games out of 13.
About the Squad:
A young carry player who is known for his aggressive playstyle, Raven likes to gank and take teamfights, more than farming. After an unsuccessful stint with Fnatic in mid-2016, Raven came back to TNC on November 29th, 2016.
Another very young player, Armel started playing Dota when he was 12 years old. 4 years down the line, he entered the competitive scene with the Filipino team Action Arena. His career started to pick up after he joined Clutch Gamers. At this point he climbed to the top of the SEA leaderboards and ended up in TNC Predator.
The most loyal member of TNC is Sam_H. Ever since he started his Dota career in 2015, Sam_H has been in TNC. He is the tempo controller of the team, making huge plays even when his team is under pressure. He is known for his skills on heroes like Sand King and Batrider.
The best Earth Spirit player in the SEA region, Tims is known for his aggressive playstyle. He has been in other SEA teams like Execration and Rave. He joined TNC on December 15th 2016.
Originally a Solo Mid player, Kuku moved to Position 5 when Armel joined the team. It goes without saying how versatile Kuku is. He has been playing in TNC since early 2016 and currently he is the captain of the team.
The Filipino Dream:
TNC is a young, passionate Filipino squad on a mission to become the best players in the world. Many of TNC’s players started out by playing in LAN cafes and now they are going to be facing off against the best teams in the world in Vancouver, Canada. I wish them the best of luck, and hope they showcase the strength of the SEA region at TI8.
