The third and final day of DreamHack Delhi 2019 concluded today, where the finals of the CS:GO Invitational happened. We saw four teams – Pro100, YaLLa Esports, HellRaisers, and Goliath Gaming battling it out at the final matches. Here’s what went down!

Semi Finals – Pro100 & HellRaisers qualify

Team Pro100 was matched against Team Yalla Esports in the first match. Pro100 came out to be really strong and dominated them on Vertigo with a 16:4, where YaLLa didn’t win a single round in the second half. The second match was on Inferno, where YaLLa played well but still lost against Pro100 with a final score of 16:12.

Pro100 then secured their spot on the Grand Finals.

Team HellRaisers played against Team Goliath Gaming in the next match. The first match was on Overpass, where as expected HellRaisers dominated Goliath with a final score of 16:6. The second match was no different, the map was Inferno and Goliath lost to HellRaisers with a score of 16:8.

HellRaisers then secured their spot on the Grand Finals.

Grand Finals – Team Pro100 versus Team HellRaisers

The grand finals of DreamHack Delhi’s CS:GO Invitational were going to be intriguing to watch. Team HellRaisers was clearly the strongest team in the lineup, by not having lost a single match in the entire tournament. Everyone I talked to, they were all pretty much certain they were going to dominate in the finals too. But Pro100 shined, they shined really hard!

The maps that were decided were Mirage, Train, and Overpass after teams eliminated all the others.

The first map that was played was Mirage. Both teams played well, and it was actually quite a close match that went into Overtime. The first half was won by HellRaisers, and then Pro100 picked it up by winning the second half. The match went into overtime where Pro100 consecutively won many rounds and defeated HellRaisers with a final score of 19:15.

We move on to the first map, that was being played on Train. In the first half, Pro100 was consecutively winning many rounds as the Terrorists while HellRaisers only won two being the Counter-Terrorists. But in the second half, HellRaisers picked it up really well and started dominating Pro100 as much as they did them, but Pro100 managed to win four rounds anyway, by controlling the sites really well towards the end of the match. Pro100 won the match against HellRaisers and became the champions of DreamHack Delhi CS:GO Invitational 2019 with a final score of 16:10!

Team Pro100 takes home the trophy and their share of the prize pool of $28,000 USD (20 Lakhs INR). This was a well deserved victory and quite surprising considering everyone believed HellRaisers would win this tournament, even I did. They were the most experienced organisation present at DreamHack Delhi 2019, and hadn’t lost a single match. But Pro100 really upped their skills and defeated them in the first map despite the match being such a close call. The second map went really well for them as they dominated through while being on the T side and won the rounds they needed by improving their defence on CT towards the end.

Team HellRaisers place second and win $14,000 USD (10 Lakhs INR). The third & fourth positions went to Yalla Esports & Goliath Gaming respectively, with both teams getting $6,000 USD each (4.5 Lakhs INR).

DreamHack Delhi 2019 has been quite a sensation to attend, and I’ll be covering the winners for the PC Modding, Cosplay, PUBG Mobile, COD Mobile and KO Fight Nights competitions as well. Stay tuned for more news stories on DreamHack Delhi 2019 and my upcoming review on the event!
