Split/Second vs Grid Autosport: In this article, we will be comparing two very popular Racing games. However, Grid Autosport is fighting a really tough opponent here, as we all know how popular Split/Second is. But is Split/Second better than Grid Autosport at gameplay? Let’s find out.
Split/Second
Split/Second is an arcade racing video game, released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. It was developed by Black Rock Studio and published by Disney Interactive Studios.
In Split/Second, players take part in a fictional reality TV program where participants race for money and glory. Throughout a race, players can build up their “power play” meter by performing stunts, such as jumps and mid-air overtakes, and precision driving, such as drafting opponents and drifting. This is the major part of the gameplay.
Grid Autosport
Grid Autosport is a racing video game and for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Linux, iOS, macOS, Nintendo Switch and Android. It was developed by Codemasters. It is the ninth game in the TOCA series.
Grid Autosport aims to move the series back towards “more authentic racing games” following the release of Grid 2, which Codemasters felt was not as well-received by the company’s core fanbase as it was hoped for. The developers consequently introduced major modifications to the handling model and built a lean, race-first oriented design for this title.
Conclusion
Split/Second vs Grid Autosport: Even though both Split/Second and Grid Autosport are both from the same genre and series, they feel like two completely different games. Both the games are amazing and it is very hard to choose among them.
Personally, I prefer Split/Second over Grid Autosport because I prefer that game and I have put in a lot of hours into it. However, gameplay-wise, both the games offer an equal amount of entertainment value. If you haven’t played either of these games, I suggest you to try Split/Second.
