Split/Second vs Driver: San Francisco: In this article, we will be comparing two very popular Racing games. However, Driver: San Francisco is fighting a really tough opponent here, as we all know how popular Split/Second is. But is Split/Second better than Driver: San Francisco at gameplay? Let’s find out.
Split/Second
Split/Second is an arcade racing video game, released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. It was developed by Black Rock Studio and published by Disney Interactive Studios.
In Split/Second, players take part in a fictional reality TV program where participants race for money and glory. Throughout a race, players can build up their “power play” meter by performing stunts, such as jumps and mid-air overtakes, and precision driving, such as drafting opponents and drifting. This is the major part of the gameplay.
Driver: San Francisco
Driver: San Francisco is an action-adventure racing video game developed by Ubisoft Reflections and published by Ubisoft. It is the fifth instalment in the Driver series.
Driver: San Francisco was released in September 2011 for the PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows, with an edition for Mac OS X in March 2012.
The game sees players traversing a fictional version of San Francisco and the Bay area conducting missions through the use of licensed real-world cars. Players have the ability to shift into any car in the game’s setting in most platform editions. The game’s main story sees players controlling John Tanner, a police detective, who falls into a coma pursuing his nemesis Charles Jericho following a prison breakout after the events of Driv3r, and finds himself piecing together his plan in a dream world while it is happening in real life.
Conclusion
Split/Second vs Driver: San Francisco: Even though both Split/Second and Driver: San Francisco are both from the same genre and series, they feel like two completely different games. Both the games are amazing and it is very hard to choose among them.
Personally, I prefer Split/Second over Driver: San Francisco because I prefer that game and I have put in a lot of hours into it. However, gameplay-wise, both the games offer an equal amount of entertainment value. If you haven’t played either of these games, I suggest you to try Split/Second.
