Sony’s lineup of PS4 games for E3 2018

The 24^th  Electronic Entertainment Expo, commonly known as E3 2018 is going to take place from June 12th  to 14th. E3 is the biggest gaming expo and it is always an exciting time for all gamers, PC and console alike. As always, Sony is set to showcase their upcoming PS4 exclusive games at this event which I am going to cover in this article, so lets jump right into it.

Death Stranding

Death Stranding, developed by Kojima Productions is going to be the first game by game director Hideo Kojima after the disbandment of Kojima Productions as a subsidiary of Konami. This is an action game set in an open world environment in which actors Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen will be portraying the main characters in the game through motion capture, facial scanning and vocal performance.

I’m very excited about this one as the trailer and the images of the game look very beautiful with amazing graphics and a lot of detail.

Ghost of Tsushima

The makers of the highly acclaimed PS4 game “inFamous”, Sucker Punch Productions is going for a completely different kind of game this time with Ghost of Tsuhima. It’s a third-person open-world action-stealth video game set in Feudal Japan, where the player controls the hero, Jin, as he fights back against a Mongol invasion in 1274.

The trailer didn’t reveal much about the game but I am expecting nothing less than a blockbuster from this studio.

Spider-Man

After the massive success of Spider-Man: Homecoming, it was not much of a surprise that Marvel was going to make more Spidey merchandize, but it was a delightful surprise when they announced the release of a Spidey game!

Spider-Man is an action-adventure, third person game set in an open world of the modern-day New York city. Apart from web slinging and wall-crawling, Spidey will also be able to traverse the world using parkour and crafting alternative suits, gadgets. Mary Jane will also be a playable character in this game in a few parts of the game. The game is set to feature an older and more experienced Spider-Man which is in contrast with the recent roles of Spiderman in the Marvel movies.

The Last of Us Part II

The Last of Us was one of the most entertaining and scary games that were ever made, getting 10/10 reviews by almost all the major game reviewers. When ‘The Last of Us Part II’ was revealed, everyone was extremely hyped about it. Like its predecessor, The Last of Us Part II is action-adventure survival horror video game. The game is set 5 years after the events of the first game and the player will be controlling Ellie’s character.

In contrast with the first installment, which was centered around love, this game will be centered around hate. Just imagining that is goosebumps inducing.

Apart from these PS4 exclusive games, other third-party games like the much-awaited Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will also be showcased at the event. This time along, they decided to not have a single-player mode but instead they are adding a battle royale game mode called ‘Blackout’. After the trailer for this game mode was released on 17^th of this month, a lot of hype has been stirred up and the gaming community can’t wait to know more about the game.

Sony also released the following list for the games that will be revealed during their main event. There are a couple of unrevealed games by Capcom and Rocksteady. We will also see DMC V’s trailer and the Avengers game at the event.
