Signify, the brand that set a standard in the Indian Esports scene, is about to come to an end. Just a few hours ago, an unexpected post was made by Signify on their Facebook page.

In the beginning of the post, the biggest and most impressive achievements of Signify were addressed. After that, we were given an explanation on why the brand ‘Signify’ is being dissolved. The post included a few words from the Co-founder of Horizon Sports, Rajdip Gupta. This transcript explains the entire situation.

“With the interest of avoiding conflicts arising from the ownership structure of Cobx Gaming Private Limited and Horizon Sports Private Limited, we have decided to dissolve Signify. Two years ago, we formed the team with the intention to promote professional gaming and expanding professional teams in India. Today, the esports ecosystem in India has flourished tremendously and there are multiple professional teams set-up, hence, we believe this is the right time step out and avoid any sort of conflict with Cobx Gaming as we are actively involved in organizing tournaments. We would also like to thank our players for giving the team their all and wish them the best for what lies ahead. As an organization we will be doing everything we can to help the players secure the next step in their career and find their ground. We are sure with their skills and experience they will achieve great success.” – From the Facebook post.

Here’s a summary of the above: Signify is co-owned by Cobx Gaming Private Limited and Horizon Sports Private Limited. These entities started having conflicts over the “ownership structure” of the brand. To avoid these conflicts between each other, they have decided to dissolve Signify. This will be carried out by 1st of July, 2019.

Signify was one of the best things to ever happen to the Esports scene in India. Apart from dominating the Indian Dota 2 scene, they have also represented India in international tournaments like World Cyber Games 2019 and PVP Esports Championship. It is truly a moment of sorrow to see their journey come to an end.

Here’s wishing everyone that was a part of Signify best of luck for all their future endeavours, from the Esportsportal team. I am positive that each one of them has what it takes to achieve greatness and be the best in their field.
