The classic Leisure Suit Larry is back after 11 years in Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don’t Dry. If you were ever into mouse only games on PCs since 1987, there’s no chance you haven’t heard of this game. Our old playboy is back but only this time he’s a bit taller.
Set up in modern times where world is captured by social media like facebook, Instagram and tinder (called as Farcebook, Instacrap and Timber in game) our old Larry finds himself lost and tries to grow up with the world to do what he’s best at (you know what I mean here).
If you were a fan of the series, good news, game hasn’t took departure from any old formulas. It could be another debate as to should we welcome this or feel bad. There is a fan base who would rather love to stick to old Larry game formulas and there would be some people who seek innovation.
So our Larry wakes up from a long sleep but thankfully he finds himself just out of Lefty’s. If not for Lefty, Larry could struggle understand the new generation. Life has been restricted to social media and all social show off now. People mostly live a fake life. Nothing that we can separate from the actual generation we’re living in. Nothing much we can discuss in department of story to avoid spoilers, but it is good enough to keep us going.
Nothing feels changed when we look at gameplay. So its old classic mouse only point to move game. You can keep your controllers and keyboard aside and relax. Check out the first 20 minutes of gameplay and decide yourself.
Its really a subject of debate on how to score this game from different prospective. Since people playing it for nostalgia will be satisfied but new generation would complain for no innovation at all. Keeping both the views in consideration I’ll just round up the review saying if you are a fan of the series, you’ll not be disappointed and if you’re playing it for the first time, you’ll have to adapt to the playstyle. Overall nothing landmark but a fun game to play.
