The open tournament will be held at REX eSports in Kormangala, Bengaluru and will boast a prize pool of 300,000 INR.
On May 19th and 20th, 2018 the Indian Fighting Game Community with the help of Rex eSports, located in Koramangala, Bangalore, decided to host one of the biggest ever community initiatives, Proving Grounds. The head of Rex eSports, Deepak Thomas, and the 260+ members of Indian FGC took upon themselves to help India be higher in the world of esports.
Proving Grounds 2 is an open tournament, with the goal to bring together the gaming enthusiasts and help them prove their skills and value
The tournament will be held the event in Rex eSports, Koramangala, Bangalore. A total of 350+ Players are expected to compete for a prize pool of 300,000 INR.
The event will be played over a period of 3 days. The participants will compete in the games on PC at PUBG, on PS4 at Street Fighter V, Tekken 7 and FIFA 19, and on Nintendo Switch at Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
The tournament is not only for the Indian gamers and enthusiasts, the organizers invite interested individuals from the entire Asian sub-continent to come, participate and grab their shot at being a part of the esports world. There were no restrictions as such for international participants and it was absolutely free which grabbed the attention of The Bangladeshi FGC. The registrants number stood at 150 out of which 5 were Bangladeshi. This number was expected to rise up to 165 on the day of the event, but exceeded the expectations and rose till 173.
Proving Grounds Round 2 officially became a part of the Tekken World Tour (TWT) roster recently. TWT is like the world cup for fighting games especially Tekken since it’s one of the most popular 3D fighting game of all time and has a great following as well as a player base in India.
