With Doom Eternal and Rage 2 at the keynote presentation, the QuakeCon 2018 Day 1 was explosive, to say the least.
This year’s QuakeCon has started, and Bethesda has some heavy hitters to show to us. The QuakeCon 2018 Day 1 came to an end yesterday and we will recap the important things that went down:
Quake Champions will be free:
Bethesda has been toying for Quake Champions for a long time now. The game wnet free for a while after E3. But Bethesda announced that the id Software shooter is going to be free for everyone forever.
Elder Scrolls Online’s next expansion:
Elder Scrolls Online’s next expansion is called Wolfhunter. The players will focus on hunting werewolves and will have to fight the daedric prince, Hiricine. The following expansion, Murkmire, will take the players to Black Marsh. Wolfhunter will release on August 13 for PC and on August 28 for consoles.
Rage 2 extended gameplay trailer:
We got a deeper look into Rage 2 at QuakeCon. The trailer expands upon the mission Eden Assault, some of which we have already seen at E3. The trailer also details some factions and their characteristics, settlements, weapons and vehicles. This trailer looks completely insane, and promises more insanity in the coming months.
Doom Eternal gameplay reveal:
Doom Eternal’s gameplay reveal was the highlight of QuakeCon 2018 Day 1. Doom Eternal will have double the demons from the 2106 reboot. The Doomslayer looks meaner than ever with new weapons and abilities like wall climbing. Some classic Demomns from Doom II will also be making a return, like the Pain Elemental and the Arachnotrons.
But the biggest reveal has to be the Invasion feature. Other players will be able to take control of demons and invade your campaign, causing a lot of unpredictability. Players will be able to do it solo or form a “Salyer Hunting Party”.
And finally, staying true to the memes, Bethesda also announced that Doom Eternal will also be coming to Nintendo Switch.
