PUBG was a game which took out the best elements from the most famous shooting games, and created an incredible compilation. It had many unique elements to it too, which made the game feel incredibly fresh when it first came out.
Many people forgot about all other games and started playing PUBG because of its appeal and over-night success. It became a phenomenon. Even now, it is considered one of the best games in the Battle Royale genre.
The game is based on previous mods that were created by Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene for other games, inspired by the 2000 Japanese film Battle Royale. In the game, up to one hundred players parachute onto an island and scavenge for weapons and equipment to kill others while avoiding getting killed themselves. The available safe area of the game’s map decreases in size over time, directing surviving players into tighter areas to force encounters. The last player or team standing wins the round.
