Good news PUBG fans! This is the piece of news that we PUBG fans have been waiting for a long time. Yes, a brand new PUBG game is under development and the news is official!
PUBG started its life as a Mod of Arma 2, until PUBG corporation developed a full-fledged Battle Royale game in 2017. Since its release, the game has gained massive popularity, breaking a couple of records and bringing out a totally brand new game genre to the gaming community. Although later games like Fortnite and Apex Legends tried to dethrone PUBG, the game held its player base.
Recently, the official PUBG twitter account posted about their new initiative. PUBG Corporation is branching out a brand new game developing studio called Striking Distance to develop the new game. Striking Distance will be based on San Ramon, California and totally controlled by PUBG corporation. Glen Schofield, a well-known industry veteran will be leading the newly formed studio as CEO. Previously Schofield had worked for big titles like Call of Duty, Dead Space so there is no doubt that he will develop an incredible game with his expertise level.
What do we know about this new PUBG game?
Not much information has been revealed but from the tweet, but from what we got to hear in the tweet, the new game will “create an original narrative experience within the PUBG universe”. According to Schofield, the new team will be looking forward to “the freedom to explore the PUBG universe”. However, he hinted that the new game may not be a battle royale game.
