The Fortnite x Avengers Limited Time Mode is set to go online today, and you will be able to play as Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet.
After 10 long years since the first Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, Iron Man was released, we finally got to experience Avengers: Infinity War. Our patience and dedication were well rewarded, when we got to see the “most ambitious crossover” on the big screen. Infinity war has become one of the cornerstones of today’s pop culture. The same is true for Fortnite, with celebrities and gamers alike getting onto the Battle Royale bandwagon. And in a very unprecedented move, Epic announced on their Twitter the Fortnite x Avengers mashup.

They tweeted a photograph yesterday with Omega and Thanos and the word “snap” in the background and Fortnite x Avengers in the front. The photograph also shows Thanos wearing the Infinity Gauntlet. Not many details were revealed, but Entertainment Weekly managed to get some details about the LTM. The report said:
“The “Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup” mode for Battle Royale will feel just like a standard slugfest — with one major difference: One hundred players will descend upon the map and fight until one player is left standing, as usual, but this time you’ll do so with the Infinity Gauntlet in play.
The artifact containing all six Infinity Stones — the same one Thanos used to cripple Earth’s Mightiest Heroes on the big screen — will appear on the map. Whomsoever finds and equips it will transform into Thanos himself, wielding all the power that comes with him.”
They also got to interview Joe and Anthony Russo, the co-directors of Avengers: Infinity Wars. Both of them are huge fans of Fortnite. “Over the past few months, while we were editing Infinity War, we’d take breaks to hop on and get in a few games,” Joe exclusively told EW. “And then we started thinking, how cool would it be to have some kind of Avengers x Fortnite mashup? So we stalked Donald.” Donald Mustard is the he worldwide creative director of Epic Games.
“Out of the blue, I get this call from Joe. And after a bit of geeking out over each other’s work, we start brainstorming these crazy ideas,” said Donal Mustard.
The update is out now. They released a sweet trailer for it too.
