The admin team found that Nikhil “Forsaken” Kumawat made use of a cheating software, thus resulting in his team, OpTic India’s direct elimination from the tournament.
OpTic India, which was supposed to represent India in such a huge platform, after losing their first match at eXTREMESLAND to FrostFire,16-6, were scheduled to play the BO3 elimination game against the Vietnamese team, Revolution today
OpTic India won the first map, Inferno, with a score of 16-7. The second map was half over when the organisers paused the match for a considerable amount of time. A while later, the eXTREMESLAND 2018 Asia Finals admin team declared that Forsaken was cheating in the match.
As reported by csog2asia, when approached by the admin, ‘Forsaken’ at first rejected the administrator access to his PC. Admins then asked him to alt-tab his PC. And voila, what looked like a cheating software, was running in the background . Nikhil Kumawat promptly shut and erased the suspicious program before the admin’s eyes.
Since the software was erased, this delayed the examination, as administrators worked rapidly to recover the deleted software. Luckily, the document was recovered effectively, however upon trying to know more about it, the software would not open, prompting an error that Windows needs to be updated to run the program.
This encounter by the admins combined with the anti-cheat system that detected the program gave the eXTREMESLAND coordinators enough evidence to support that ‘Forsaken’ was in fact, cheating.
Due to Forsaken’s cheating, OpTic India has been disqualified from the competition, giving Revolution the win, with Forsaken being sent “home on the next flight”, as per CSGO2ASIA.
Reports of Forskaen using hacks were already making rounds in the Indian Gaming community, yet they were dismissed. It is also astounding that the OpTic India management and players did not know that Kumawat was making use of these cheats. As of now, Forsaken has been removed from the team.
No further comments have been made by the organisers, OpTic India or even Forsaken at this point. We have contacted OpTic India and eXTREMESLAND, but as of writing they haven’t replied yet. Stay tuned for more updates to the story.
