We have new, big leaks on specifications for the RTX 2080/2080 Ti GPUs, Benchmarks for the GTX 2060 and leaked pictures of custom models for the RTX 2080/2080 Ti GPUs. The GeForce RTX/GTX 20 Series GPUs are all set to release and be available for pre-order from 20th August NVIDIA has also begun a countdown for their #BeForTheGame Event. Here are all the new & exciting rumours and details for the next-gen GeForce 20 Series GPUs from NVIDIA.
GeForce RTX 2080 Ti & 2080
Here is our previous article on the GeForce RTX 2080. I discussed how the advances and new technologies present on the new Turing architecture will be implemented in the GeForce RTX/GTX Series GPUs, including explanations for GDDR6 Memory, NVIDIA DLAA and other technologies in the Turing Architecture. Let’s have a look on some of the new rumours we have –
Specs for the RTX 2080 & 2080 Ti have been confirmed by VideoCardz
VideoCardz.com has confirmed the specifications for the GeForce RTX 2080 & 2080 Ti GPUs. The RTX 2080 Ti will pack 11GBs of GDDR6 Memory based on a 352-bit interface, with 4352 CUDA Cores and a Memory Bandwidth of 616GB/s. For the RTX 2080, it will have 8GBs of GDDR6 Memory based on a 256-bit interface. It will come with 2944 CUDA Cores (earlier it was speculated to be 3072). They also said that they have Clock Speeds & TDP Values but the origin of this information is based on non-reference models so they haven’t released that yet.
Several pictures for the PCB of the GeForce RTX 2080 GPU’s Reference Models have been leaked. The leak, coming from Wccftech show that the GPU is codenamed TU104-400-A1, which translates to a preproduction unit codename. They say that the T04-400 will likely be the GPU for the GeForce RTX 2080. Here are the images, credits to Wccftech –
The PCB can be seen having eight GDDR6 Memory modules, which could mean either 8GBs or 16GBs of on-board GDDR6 Memory for the RTX 2080. It also has 8 pin and 6 pin power connector connections. The GTX 1080 8GB Reference Model had 2x 8pin connectors on the GPU but only one was required to run the GPU, so we can expect the RTX 2080 having a similar setup.
Custom Models for the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti and 2080
These leaks come from VideoCardz.com. They’ve got pictures for the upcoming custom GeForce RTX 2080 Ti & 2080 GPUs from several brands. The GPUs pictured are from several companies including MSI, Palit, Gigabyte, ASUS, and Inno3D. They come with NVLink & Type-C VirtualLink Connectors, Dual 8-pin connectors for power and gorgeous designs. Here they are!
GTX 2060 – 5GB GDDR6 Memory, 3DMark Score Benchmark Leak
We’ve got rumoured details for the Turing-based GTX 2060, and they’re absolutely amazing. The performance is rumoured to be in the GTX 1080 levels, with card getting a score of 15894 on 3DMark FireStrike 1.1. The description of the card is under the name ‘GTX 2060 5GB’, which also points out to the card having 5GBs of GDDR6 Memory. Here is the benchmark –
Yep, you read it right. This benchmark shows the performance on par with the GTX 1080. Keep in mind that names can easily be manipulated in benchmarks, but if this 3DMark benchmark entry is true, the new Turing-based GeForce RTX/GTX GPUs are headed towards high-end GTX 1080 performance in the mid-range cards. Imagine what kind of performance we could be getting with the flagship RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti GPUs if this is what we’re getting with the GTX 2060!
Get on the hype train everyone, it’s less than 70 hours remaining for the #BeForTheGame event by NVIDIA. Everyone is definitely very excited to see what they’ll be releasing. The new info we have about these GPUs are solid and it all just leaves everyone with even more excitement. What do you think about the new leaks we have for the GeForce RTX/GTX 20 Series GPUs? Let’s discuss in the comments.
