Nvidia Gamer Connect: 2018 looks like a big year for Indian Gamers

We had the chance to talk to ZOTAC and Nvidia at the Gamer Connect, and they have big things planned for this year.

Nvidia recently organised a Gamer Connect event in New Delhi, which brought community leaders from the gaming industry under one roof. The event’s main focus was to introduce the community members to each other, so that they may work together and help the Indian gaming scene to grow.

At the meet-up we had a chance to talk to the representatives from ZOTAC and Nvidia about their own plans for the Indian gamers. “We have lot of things planned at the community level for this year”, says Zaid Khan, Assistant Marketing Manager, ZOTAC India. “Apart from Dota and CS:GO, we are trying to get into different games as well, like League of Legends and Overwatch. We are still planning stuff. ZOTAC might organise Community Cups for LoL and Overwatch. We already have ZOTAC Cup for Dota and CS:GO, which is organised every third month.”

“If things work out well enough, we might also plan offline tournaments in India.”

Speaking about the grassroot level efforts put in by Nvidia, Karthik Rao, Marketing and Sales Specialist for Nvidia said, “First and foremost, we are trying to educate the owners of gaming cafés about the business. There have been a lot of cafes in India which eventually shut down.

“We are also trying to connect brands and gamers. That is what this event is about. We are trying to build a platform where the community can unite and meet each other.”

“Nvidia also has larger Gamer Connect events planned. We will be starting with Pune and then Chandigarh. We also have a couple of other cities planned. The finale will be in Bangalore. Last year, our final Gamer Connect in Hyderabad had 5000 gamers in attendance.”

Apart from this, problems like the rising prices of Graphics Cards were discussed. We also got to witness the ZOTAC Zbox in action.

Also, some cool gear from ThermalTake was at display.
