NVIDIA just announced the mid-range RTX 2060 GPU at CES 2019. It’ll be released on January 15th with a starting price of $349, and feature Ray-Tracing capabilities.
Back in November 2018, NVIDIA released the RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080 and RTX 2070 GPUs. Now, they’re expanding the lineup with the RTX 2060, which will be their mid-range GPU with Ray-Tracing.
Pricing & Availability
Starting at $349, the RTX 2060 will be available from January 15th. Pre-orders for the founders edition variant from NVIDIA will be starting soon at NVIDIA’s Website. Pricing in India will start from around 31,000 INR, and MDComputers has begun taking pre-orders for the ZOTAC Variants –
NVIDIA has also announced a game bundle for its RTX-enabled GPUs, desktops and laptops, with which gamers can get up two AAA games, Battlefield V & Anthem, for free with their purchase.
How is the performance?
NVIDIA says the RTX 2060 will be up to 60% faster on average compared to its predecessor, the GTX 1060. It features GTX 1070 Ti class performance pumped with the new Ray-Tracing & DLSS technologies, previously only present on the high-end RTX 2070, RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti GPUs. They claim it will be capable of 60+ FPS Gaming at 1080p with max settings, and deliver great performance at 1440p with high settings. Here’s a performance benchmark by NVIDIA –
In terms of specifications, the RTX 2060 will have 6GB GDDR6 Memory, 240 Tensor Cores, 1920 CUDA Cores, 30 RT Cores, and a GPU Boost Clock up to 1.68GHz. It will be available from many board partners like GIGABYTE, MSI and ASUS at launch, along with a founder’s edition from NVIDIA themselves.
