The NASSCOM Game Developer Conference is one of the largest gaming-focused seminar held in India every year. NASSCOM has been organising these conferences for several years and now in 2018, they will be rebranding the conference for game developers and publishers alike. The event will now be known as the India Game Developer Conference or IGDC for short. Other related events including their NGF Awards will be rebranded accordingly as well.
The announcement was done recently by Rajesh Rao, Chairman of Advisory Committee at IGDC. He said, “On the 10th anniversary of the conference, we decided that it was time to rebrand NGDC to The India Game Developer Conference, to more accurately reflect a platform that has grown from strength to strength over the last decade, to become the must-attend conference for games in India.”
The India Game Developer Conference 2018 will be held from December 4th to 5th. Just like last year, it will be held at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC). The ten-year anniversary of the conference will be marked by this year’s IGDC 2018 Event. The IGDC 2018 will also be the flagship event for IndiaJoy – a new initiative by the State of Telangana showcasing Animation, VFX and Gaming. It will be a week-long showcase. In the coming weeks, other conferences & events of IndiaJoy will be announced.
Similar to previous conferences, the event will have new product showcases, game releases and publisher meetups. Many speakers will also be present. Last year’s conference had 150+ speakers including Brett Bibby (VP Of Engineering at Unity Technologies), Miika Ahonen (Product Manager at Rovio Entertainment), Lauren Freeman (Director of External Development at Electronic Arts) and several other renowned personalities involved in the gaming industry.
The registrations for speakers at the India Game Developer Conference 2018 have begun. Since several years, NASSCOM’s Game Developer Conferences have brought big advancements to the Indian Gaming Industry. Past years events have been very successful and we’re expecting the India Game Developer Conference 2018 to be no different!
