Choirs are supposed to be serene and calm, angelic in sense and emotions. Composer Mick Gordon wants to change that idea, forever. Famous for his work in Brutal Legend, The Wolfenstein reboot and DOOM (2016), Mick Gordon wants to assemble a team of Heavy Metal screamers.
Speaking through a YouTube video released a few days ago, Mick Gordon announced that he is working on a new Video Game project. And his work requires him to record a choir of Heavy Metal Screamers.
Giving out an open invitation, Gordon explains that interested artists can do:
- Fill out this form.
- Include your name, email and provide a demo of your “killer metal voice” by February 1, 2019.
- Be prepared to fly out to Austin, Texas on the first week of March. That is if you get selected.
Gordon further explains that participants have to above 18 to be eligible (Sorry kids!) and that this will be a paid venture with participants being credited as a part of the project.
While Mick appeared to be really excited to work with talents from everywhere, he didn’t share any details about the project itself. But the shortlink to the form is very interesting as it is and there’s a famous studio in Austin that mixes Demonic flesh and Metal music to create magic.
Now we’re not saying it’s DOOM, but it’s definitely DOOM Eternal which was announced last year at E3 and Quakecon. Given DOOM’s history of being a hotbed of controversy and critical acclaim, it’s no surprise that Eternal might go on to become a blockbuster release in its own rights.
The very anticipated sequel of 2016’s franchise reboot looks to be very promising from the gameplay trailers. And with a killer soundtrack on the way, we can’t wait to find out just how much hell it’ll raise.
