League of Legends (L.O.L.) is one of the most played and viewed PC games of all time. League of Legends: Maestro Error has been popping up randomly mid game for quite some time now. The annoying part about this error is that the player has to disconnect mid game and restart the game which can be time consuming.
Explanation of Maestro Error
League of Legends: Maestro Error shows up when the game is unable to access some specific files due to restrictions. These restrictions might be set by the antivirus or the operating system. Another reason behind this error might be outdated windows, as we often ignore the regular windows update released by Microsoft.
A list of solutions to solve this simple error has been given below in details.
Solution 1: Run as ADMIN
Running any program as an administrator gives the program access to multiple files which otherwise might not be accessible. To do this, one can right click on the .exe file and click on “Run as administrator” every time they run the program or set this action to default from properties as shown in the picture below.
Solution 2: Turn of UAC and Create Exception for L.O.L.
At times the antivirus software that we use might block the L.O.L. launcher. This can be easily fixed by adding the launcher to an exclusions list.
After dealing with the antivirus we might have to tone down the UAC from control panel or turn it off completely. First click on “User Accounts” then click on “Change User Account Control Settings”. The UAC window pops up, as shown below, where you can change the setting accordingly. It is recommended that you turn it off complete and run the game.
Solution 3: Update Windows
In very few cases this error might be linked to a windows update. This is when the game wants to use a certain feature added by some recent windows update. Follow the steps given below to update your windows.
- Open “Windows PowerShell (Admin)” by right clicking on the start menu button. If this option is not found, then one can search for it in the start menu and run it as admin.
