The city of Kolkata has been playing an important role for the past few years when it comes to events related to gaming or hardware. At present, the city has an average rate of atleast one event per month. “By the community, for the community” has always been the motto for both event organizers and brand representatives. Even though we can see esports tournaments happening in Kolkata, majority of the events are video game or hardware launch events, with a number of community meetups and experience zones happening throughout the year.
On June 13, 2019, the city saw an amazing Ryzen 3rd Gen Launch event.
As promised at AMD’s Keynote at Computex 2019, the Ryzen 3rd Gen processors, AMD Radeon RX 5000 series graphics cards, and X570 motherboards were launched on June 7. It usually takes a few days for hardware products to hit the market in Kolkata; therefore, the launch event was celebrated 6 days later as soon as the products arrived.
The Ryzen 3rd Gen Launch Event was presented by Supreme Technologies in association with Tech Syndrome. It was sponsored by well reputed brands such as AMD, MSI, NZXT, GALAX, and ANT ESPORTS. A number of gamers and hardware enthusiasts attended the event as it was the only Ryzen 3rd Gen Launch Event that took place in Kolkata. The event was held at the multi-brand retail store of Supreme Technologies, a spacious venue which was more than enough to accommodate the attending crowd. Representatives of Tech Syndrome, Supreme Technologies, and all the associated brands were also present as the event wouldn’t have taken place without their immense support.
The event kicked off with a PC building workshop where the organizers assembled a gaming PC with the following specifications –
Processor – AMD Ryzen 5 3600
CPU Cooler – NZXT Kraken X72 Liquid Cooler
Motherboard – MSI Prestige X570 Creation
Graphics Card – MSI AMD Radeon RX 5700 8GB GDDR6
RAM – Zion Blaze RGB 32GB DDR4 (8GB x 4)
SSD – GALAX Gamer 120GB
PSU – Cooler Master Masterwatt Lite 600W
Cabinet – H700i
New comers without much knowledge about PC building got to know the exact steps which they should follow while building a PC. The PC building workshop was immediately followed by an Overclocking workshop. Just like the previous workshop, attendees of the Overclocking workshop got to know the processes involved during overclocking of a hardware. The Ryzen 3600 CPU was initially overclocked to 4.18 GHz and then to 4.2 GHz. The Zion Blaze RAM was overclocked to 3466 MHz.
Attendees of the event had an amazing experience at the Ryzen 3rd Gen Launch Event. As I’ve mentioned before, it was the only such event that took place in Kolkata. People got to learn about PC building, overclocking, and got the chance to interact directly with brand representatives as well as other members of the gaming community. There’s way more events to come and hopefully some day in the future, the city will be host to events of international scale.
