Cosplays are a wonderful sight to espy. We tend to admire the cosplayers in costumes of our favourite anime, game or superhero characters. In one moment we fall in love with an anime, the next moment we find ourselves in the google images gaping with astonishment at various cosplays. It’s like the virtual world coming into reality in an instant! Finally, I got an opportunity to interview the most renowned cosplayer of India who never ceases to amaze us with her talent – Niharika Patil aka Niha Novacaine. She is sheen, sizzling and truly dedicated. Being a passionate otaku and gamer has made her realize her dreams and now she basks in triumph. She is seen in every cosplay event and comes out to be its epitome. She’s one and only pretty Niha Patil!
VaLouR: Hi Niha! First things first! Thank You for taking out your time for this interview. How have you been doing?
Niha Novacaine: Hello! No problem. It’s always nice answering questions. I’ve been alright. Been doing a lot of cosplay work lately.
VaLouR: Our eyes are craving! When are we next going to see jaw dropping flabbergasting cosplay from you?
Niha Novacaine: Blizzard and DOTA 2 cosplay to come. But, mostly Blizzard because they essentially own my soul. STAY TUNED!
VaLouR: What was your first cosplay? Were you happy with it?
Niha Novacaine: My very first cosplay was in 2006. The mostly legitimate attempt at least. Sasuke Uchiha from Naruto. I hated it. It was all cardboard and aluminium foil. I was very proud of it back then! (laughs).
VaLouR: Is there any other Indian cosplayer you admire the most?
Niha Novacaine: It would hardly be fair if I pick and choose. I like all Indian Cosplayers. They are all doing such a great job!
VaLouR: In the field of gaming and geek world you have emerged as a celebrity. How do you feel about it?
Niha Novacaine: I’d hardly say I feel like a celebrity. I’m just your normal geeky kid who loves videogames. Lately gaming has overtaken everything including my cosplay choices. I suppose I just enjoy it more. I’m still the same. Nothing has changed.
VaLouR: As a gamer what is your perception about Indian Gaming scene?
Niha Novacaine: As a gamer, I think the Indian gaming scene is growing. eSports if finally, in the limelight. I hope it leads to bigger and better tournaments for fans to enjoy.
VaLouR: You have recently stepped onto the Twitch platform, is streaming any different than your day to day matches?
Niha Novacaine: Live streaming is my favorite way of interacting with my fans and fillers. It gives me the opportunity to interact with them since I really don’t get at events. I’m happy to play with my viewers. Three normal matches are just with friends I suppose. Honestly, the best part about live streaming is talking to my viewers I suppose I react more freely when I’m streaming.
VaLouR: How many games and how often do you stream?
Niha Novacaine: The games I play vary but I play a lot of Overwatch, DOTA 2, World of Warcraft and other Blizzard Games often. I’m willing to try and give my thoughts on anything and everything new. I even stream games like Witcher 3 and other single player RPGS. I stream whenever possible! Anything from 6-9 pm or even later! Do follow me on www.twitch.tv/NihaNovacaine and my Facebook fan page for updates.
VaLouR: Is there any message you would like to pass on to your fans?
Niha Novacaine: Find what you love, set your goal and work on it every single day
