There’s multiple ways to play the mobile game on PC, if you’d like to. By playing on PC, you get way better controls than touch controls on phones, and better performance with the ability to play maximum graphics, if your PC is capable enough that is. This guide shows you how to play COD Mobile on PC, using Bluestacks.
Call Of Duty Mobile, or COD Mobile, has taken the mobile gaming world by storm with its tactical multiplayer gameplay and game-modes like TDM and Search & Destroy from the original Call Of Duty games on PC & Consoles. It’s been quite a sensation ever since its release this month, racking up 100 million downloads in its first week. By following this guide, do keep in mind that many esports tournaments do not allow use of emulators so play accordingly.
How to install
Follow these steps to get Call Of Duty Mobile up and running on your PC. Firstly, make sure you’re using Windows since COD Mobile isn’t supported on the macOS version of BlueStacks.
Download BlueStacks from www.bluestacks.com. If you’ve already installed BlueStacks, make sure you’ve got the updated version (4.140.11 or above)
Go through the installation. Once you’re done, you should see the BlueStacks App Player –
Now, go to the Google Play Store, and then search for Call Of Duty Mobile. Press Install and let the player download the game files & install. The game should now be in the BlueStacks app library. Once you launch the game you’ll download more files and also get updates whenever you launch it.
That’s it for the installation. Now, here’s how to optimise for better graphics and the best performance!
Firstly, go to the settings for BlueStacks 4. From there, go to the game settings where you’ll see options for the in-game resolution, graphics quality and smart controls too.
Here, you need to set the resolution in accordance to the resolution of your monitor. You can set a higher resolution too, but do it only if your PC can handle it. BlueStacks recommends a GTX 1060 for a resolution of 1440p or higher.
You also need to go to the engine settings, allocate as much many CPU cores and memory you can. Then, check the ‘Enable high frame rates’ option.
Then, launch the game and inside it go to the Settings > Audio and Graphics. Here set the graphics quality to checked options covered in red, which is ‘Very High’ graphic quality settings, ‘Max’ framerate, and all the options for effects & shadows enabled. One thing you’ll have to keep in mind is how your powerful your PC is – even emulation of a mobile game is heavy for many PCs, so if you lag or feel the experience isn’t as smooth as you’d like lower down these settings.
Enabling and setting up Smart Controls
Smart Controls in BlueStacks 4 whilst playing COD Mobile will give you precise controls with your keyboard and mouse. This is by far the most advantageous part of using BlueStacks on your PC to play COD Mobile and other games.
To enable smart controls, go to the game settings again from the BlueStacks 4 Engine. Over there, you’ll see an option for Smart Controls. By default smart controls are enabled but if not, enable them now.
That’s all you have to do. BlueStacks will optimise the controls for your PC, but if there are any problems you can customise these with this guide. Have a good look at how these controls are going to be working with your PC peripherals – it’s pretty intuitive and will feel natural like an actual FPS game on your PC.
