Developed and published by Psyonix, Rocket League has been a major esports title since the past 4 years. Perhaps one of the major reasons why the game rose to popularity as fast as it did, is because of it’s unique mixture of two different video game sub-genres; racing and football. For players who are unaware of this game, Rocket League pits players into two teams. Each team has four players. Your team’s objective is to hit the ball into your opponent’s goal just like a normal football game, however, players take control of rocket powered cars instead of human characters like all other football games. If you’re a regular or frequent Rocket League player, perhaps you’ve come across Error 67 atleast once.
Error 67 in Rocket League takes place when you attempt to play an online match. During the queuing process, instead of being placed in a match, you might get a message which says “Connection to server timed out. (Error: 67)”. According to various player feedback, this issue is common to both PC as well as consoles.

Here are some solutions to Error 67 in Rocket League –
Solving Firewall issues in Anti-Virus software
This issue is common with players who play the game on PC. One of the causes for Error 67 is your network firewall blocking your PC’s connection to Rocket League ports. This can be solved by following one or all of the steps below –
- Disable your anti-virus software’s Firewall feature. The steps for that vary with each software. Just look for anything that says “Firewall”.
- If the above step does not work for you, uninstall your Anti-Virus, atleast temporarily, to make sure that the anti-virus does not mess with your network’s ability to connect to Rocket League’s servers. If you’re using PeerBlock/PeerGuardian on your PC, uninstall them too as these softwares are known to cause Error 67 during matchmaking attempts in Rocket League.
- You can also try manually adding Rocket League ports to your anti-virus’ Firewall exceptions list. Again, the steps vary with each software but should be within either Firewall settings or in some cases, Advanced Settings of your anti-virus. Add the following ports to the anti-virus’ Firewall exceptions:
TCP: 1935,3478-3480
UDP: 3074,3478-3479
4. Restart your PC for the effects to take place.
Enabling UPnP in your Router
This issue goes for all players regardless of the platform on which they play. A lot of Wifi routers have their UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) settings disabled which prevents you from connecting to Rocket League servers thus leading to Error 67. Here’s how can enable UPnP on your router –
- Access your router settings via a web browser. If you’re wondering how to do that, just type the following IP address in the URL bar of your browser – 192.168.0.1 .
- Login to your router using the required credentials. The default credentials for most routers are:
Username – admin
Password –
(Password field will be empty)
Or
Username – admin
Password – 1234
3. This step varies with router manufacturers but the basics are pretty much the same. Look for anything that says UPnP or Forwarding. If these options are not visible, go to Advanced Settings and look for them. Once you find the UpnP option, enable it.
4.Restart your PC/console along with your router for this to take effect.
Enabling Network Discovery
This issue is common with PC players. This solution is perhaps the easiest of all.
- Go to Network and Sharing Center on your Windows PC.
- Look for the “Change advanced sharing settings” option and click on it.
- You’ll find a toggle for “Turn on network discovery”. Enable it.
Port Forwarding
Regardless of which platform you’re playing on, you can always manually forward your ports from your Wi-Fi router’s settings. Here’s how you can do that –
- Access your router settings via a web browser. If you’re wondering how to do that, just type the following IP address in the URL bar of your browser – 192.168.0.1 .
- Login to your router using the required credentials. The default credentials for most routers are:
Username – admin
Password –
(Password field will be empty)
Or
Username – admin
Password – 1234
3. Again, these steps vary with the router’s manufacturer but the finishing steps should be pretty much the same. Look for NAT Forwarding or Port Forwarding settings. Search in Advanced Settings if you can’t find them at first.
4. Once you’ve found it, select Virtual Servers and click on the Add button to begin adding ports. Ports vary with your choice of platform. Here’s a list of ports for each platform:
PC (Steam)
TCP: 27015-27030,27036-27037
UDP: 4380,27000-27031,27036
PlayStation 4
TCP: 1935,3478-3480
UDP: 3074, 3478-3479
Xbox One
TCP: 3074
UDP: 88,500,3074,3544,4500
Nintendo Switch
TCP: 6667,12400,28910,29900,29901,29920
UDP: 1-65535
5. Once you are done adding the required ports, restart your PC/console as well as your router.
Running Steam as Administrator
Sometimes not running the Steam application on your PC as Administrator might also result in Error 67 when you play Rocket League. The solution to this is quite simple.
- Close Steam. Make sure it’s not running in the background either. For this, you have to go to Task Manager and end any or all processes related to Steam.
- Once you’ve done this, just right-click on the Steam icon on your desktop and click on “Run as administrator”. If you want to permanently run Steam as Administrator, then click on Properties, select the Compatibility tab, enable “Run this program as an administrator” and click on OK.
These solutions should be enough to mitigate Error 67 while playing Rocket League. Happy Gaming!
