Most users who faced the PS4 Error Code: SU-30746-0 was during the boot up and they had no way to circumvent the error message. This error code means that the system is unable to locate the correct update file for the console to update.

If the user is the Error Code: SU-30746-0 time and again upon normal start up, then they must try starting their PS4 in safe mode. This will direct the user to the dashboard menu from where the latest firmware update can be installed.
Follow the steps below to do so:
- The PS4 is switched off completely and not put in sleep mode.
- It is then turned on. First the power button is pressed and held for about 10 secs until 2 beep sounds come from the PS4. The 1st beep sound will be heard as soon as the power button is pressed while the 2nd one will take a few secs.
- Once the 2nd beep is heard, the PS4 boots up in safe mode. When the next screen appears, DualShock 4 controller is connected and the PS button on it is pressed.
- Now the “Restart PS4” option is selected from the next screen, to reboot the console in safe mode.
- Post this, the console should boot up normally and allow the user to update the firmware from the dashboard.
Solution 2: Updating Via Safe Mode
If the above method doesn’t work out then the user can update the PS4 firmware directly from the safe mode menu itself.

Solution 3: Restore Default Settings
According to many users, restoring default settings from safe mode menu was enough to circumvent the Error Code: SU-30746-0. Follow the steps below to do the same:
- The PS4 is switched off completely and not put in sleep mode.
- It is then turned on. First the power button is pressed and held for about 10 secs until 2 beep sounds come from the PS4. The 1st beep sound will be heard as soon as the power button is pressed while the 2nd one will take a few secs.

- Now the “Restore Default Settings” is selected. A confirmation message should pop up.
- The option “Yes” is selected on the confirmation message pop up. This should revert all the settings to default value.

Solution 4: Initialize PS4
If each of the above solutions failed you, then it’s time to reinitialize the PS4 to the default state. This procedure will delete all the files stored locally. If any of the files are not backed up to cloud then they will also be lost. So, it’s advisable to use this method only if nothing else works.
