Error 11 is a very common error faced by Pokémon Go users which often pops up with the message “GPS not found”. This error is common on both iPhone and Android alike due to the different modes of GPS. Once this error kicks in the user is unable to use spin at PokéStops, enter Gym battles, catch Pokémons, etc. In-short the user can’t use the app.
Every phone is equipped with 3 different options for GPS settings: Off, Low accuracy and High accuracy. Most of the applications cease to function if the GPS is not set on High accuracy mode. Pokémon Go being no different than these mainstream apps displays the “Error 11” code.
Solution 1: Put GPS to High Accuracy from Settings
The most common and easiest way to sort out this problem is to open the settings menu on your phone. Navigate to GPS settings and switch it on.
Upon switching on the GPS the user will be prompted if they want to use the GPS in low accuracy mode or high accuracy mode. In some phones the user might get the option to set the mode of GPS directly in the GPS settings.
Once the GPS is set to High accuracy mode, the user can play Pokémon Go with no further problem.
Solution 2: Open Google Maps
In some cases the user might have trouble switching the GPS from low accuracy mode to high accuracy mode. In such cases, opening Google maps prompts the user to switch the GPS settings to high accuracy mode. Basically any app which prompts to switch to GPS settings to high accuracy mode will do.
Once the user switches to high accuracy mode, he/she can open Pokémon Go and play without any further trouble.
Solution 3: Switch on WiFi
This might sound weird, but switching on the WiFi even though its not being used boosts the GPS performance. Many users have reported that by switching on their WiFi, they were able to get rid of the “Error 11” nuisance and play seamlessly.
