Epic Games recently shared first details on the finale of the Competitive Fortnite three-part blog series. They will be hosting the Fortnite World Cup for 2019. The total prize pool for 2019 is a whooping $100,000,000, which is roughly 7,10,00,00,000 INR. Last year, Epic dedicated $100 million for all the tournaments in 2018-2019. They plan to follow the same scheme for 2019-2020 too.
How to participate in the 2019 tournaments for the Fortnite World Cup?
The ten weekly Online Open Qualifiers, from April 13th to June 16th, will kick off the Fortnite World Cup. The eligible players can win $1,000,000 weekly, with the payouts being distributed broadly. According to Epic,
To be eligible to participate in any Fortnite competition, a player must be at least 13 years old (or such other age, of greater, as may be required in such player’s country of residence). Each player between the ages of 13 and 17 (or such other age, if greater, as may be required in such player’s country of residence) must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. Players must be in good standing with respect to any Epic accounts registered by said player, with no undisclosed violations. Players must also be free of or served fully any penalties from previously breaking any official Epic rules. The event is void wherever restricted or prohibited by law. The Fortnite world cup will be hosted in New York City from 26-28 July. The top 50 Duo teams and the top 100 solo players will compete in the tournament for the $30,000,000 prize pool. All of these players are sure to take home a minimum of $50,000. The Solo Champion of the Fortnite World Cup will win $3,000,000.
Even if you are not a Battle Royale player, there are assured events that will feature custom challenges set in various modes and formats. The event will air online for the audience and tickets will be available to watch it live.
There are other ways to win some cash
Epic will go on to have weekly tournaments with prize money of $1,000,000 till the end of 2019. The competitive events will become more open to new modes and formats thanks to these tournaments. Select partners will get tournament tools and prizing to help with competitive Fortnite in various countries.
