FORTNITE SUMMER SKIRMISH RESULTS FOR WEEK 2 DAY 2

For anyone who doesn’t know, The Fortnite Summer Skirmish Series is an eight-week event in which different players/streamers from all around the world will be competing for a total prize-pool of $8 Million.

The format for this week’s Summer Skirmish tournament is called the “High Score” format. Around 100 players were invited to the tournament and apart from that, a few players who topped the charts in the Solo Showdown LTM event were also qualified to play this event. The player with the most points after 10 public solo matches is named as the winner. Players could earn points through three different ways listed below:

Eliminations: +1 point each

Victory Royale: +5 points

20 or more Eliminations in one game: +10 bonus points and $10,000

There’s going to be two different tournaments every week, one for the American players and one for the European players. Fortnite Summer Skirmish Week 2 Day 2 was the European event and many viewers were excited to see players like Dakotaz and Solary_Kinstaar play.

Prize Pool:

A Prize Pool of $400,000  was given to the top 20 players and was divided as shown in the image below:

Apart from that, there was a prize of $10,000 for every player who manages to get 20+ kills in a game.

Results:

The German console player, KamoLRF ended up winning the tournament with 174 points. Its interesting to see that console players won both the American tournament and the European tournament. The standings for the event were as follows:

Apart from this, there were 10 players that got 20+ kills in their games and ended up winning $10,000 each. The $50,000 prize for most eliminations in a single game was divided between players LPdaking, Andeeza and Teekzie. All 3 of them ended up getting 22 kills in one of their games.

In the American tournament, there were 11 players who ended up getting 20+ kill games. Getting 20 kills in a game is no simple task as it requires you to drop in a high risk/high reward location and manage to get a lot of lucky RNG in terms of opponents and early weapons. Congratulations to the players who managed to achieve this.

This wraps up Week 2 of the Fortnite Summer Skirmish tournament. Epic mentioned that next week they will be going back to private lobbies. They also said that next week, they will be coming up with a few changes that will dissuade players from playing an overcautious, camping style of gameplay. It will be interesting to see what changes Epic will come up with to implement this. Hopefully they will add some sort of incentive for kills and make it an interesting tournament.
