Fortnite patch 6.10 is out. This patch brought a lot of new and interesting features into the game for both Save The World and Battle Royale. I will be covering the updates to the Battle Royale mode in this article.
A New Vehicle: Quadcrasher
This is the third vehicle that has been introduced into the game. Unlike the previous two vehicles which mainly serve the purpose of relatively faster travel (and memes), the Quadcrasher has a destructive element to it. On the back of the vehicle, there is a tiny “boost” meter that fills up in about 5 seconds.
Once the meter is filled, it can be used by pressing spacebar which gives an incredible speed-boost to the Quadcrasher, enough to easily traverse through very high slopes. While boosted, the Quadcrasher can destroy any structures or obstacles that come in its way.
The social media feed of all the Fortnite streamers is currently filled with stunts and kills using the Quadcrasher.
Patch 6.10 brings a new “events” tab to the game. This allows players to access the officially scheduled tournament sessions in which anyone can participate. There’s a points system for each of these events. All players start at zero for every new event independent of how much they scored previously. Players can gain these points by different means like scoring a set number of eliminations or by getting a Victory Royale.
Players are matched against opponents with similar score to them. After gaining a certain number of points, you get a ‘pin’ for that tournament. For more information on events, check out this video by Epic.
Updates to the Disco Domination mode:
The latest limited time mode got a few updates.
Reduced all bandage spawns by 50%.
Removed all Common weapons.
increased the variability of where you can spawn by 30% along your sides storm circle.
Brought in the side dance floors closer to the Storm edge.
Reduced max respawn distance by 20%.
And finally, we have a few minor gameplay updates.
The Port-a-Fortress has been disabled as we work to resolve some issues related to this item.
Drop rate for Port-a-Fort increased from 3.05% to 4.89% while Port-a-Fortress is disabled. The goal is to keep the drop rate of Port-a-Fort the same as if both items were enabled to help with the completion of Challenges.
