Fortnite is heading to TwitchCon 2018

Epic will hold the conclusion to Fortnite Fall Skirmish 2018 at Twitch Con 2018 

It’s that time of the year again. TwitchCon 2018 isn’t far, and this year’s biggest game, Fortnite, is heading to TwitchCon. 

The official announcement on Fortnite’s blog. They announced that they will be dropping in the San Jose McEnery Convention Center on October 26. 

“We’ll be landing at TwitchCon 2018 on Friday, October 26 and we’re bringing plenty of fun activities for solos or squads. Find us inside the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in the “Fortnite Hall” or tune-in to the conclusion of the Fall Skirmish tournament series, live at TwitchCon!” 

Something for everyone 

There will be tournaments at Twitch Con: One will be the Duos tournament open to everyone at who registers online. The other will be an invitational, or “Stream-Vitational” as Epic calls it, for 50 Fortnite Creators and 50 randomly selected TwitchCon attendees. The tournament will be broadcast live on showfloor as well online on Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Mixer and Twitter.  

Format: 

FORMAT | STAGE ONE: HEATS 

In Stage One: Heats, Duo teams with the most points at the end of four matches will be declared the winner. Victory Royales and Eliminations will be scored to determine placement the each heat. The top twelve teams from each Heat will advance to the Stage Two: Grand Finals. Two additional wild card* teams will move on to make a total of 50 Duo teams.

Big Bonus
Victory Royale: +3 Points
2nd-3rd Place: +2 Points
4th-5th Place: +1 Point

8+ Eliminations: +3 Points
6-7 Eliminations: +2 Points
4-5 Eliminations: +1 Point

Big Bonus: After 8 Eliminations, +1 Point will be added to each elimination.

*Scores for teams which place 13th in each Heat will be compared against one another to determine which teams advance to the Stage Two: Grand Finals.

In Stage Two: Grand Finals, the Duos team with the most points at the end of six matches will be declared the winner. Victory Royales and Eliminations will be scored to determine placement at the end of the event.

Big Bonus
Victory Royale: +3 Points
2nd-3rd Place: +2 Points
4th-5th Place: +1 Point

8+ Eliminations: +3 Points
6-7 Eliminations: +2 Points
4-5 Eliminations: +1 Point

Big Bonus: After 8 Eliminations, +1 Point will be added to each elimination

Victory Royales (Per Match): $50,000 Prize Bonus during the TwitchCon Finals.
Most Eliminations Total: $50,000 Prize Bonus Total during the TwitchCon Finals.

You can register for the tournament by filling out a survey here. According to Epic, it will help them verify if you indeed are attending TwitchCon. Qualified candidates will receive a registration link through email.
