Battle Royales are mostly about survival. It’s supposed to give an overall tense feeling throughout the game. The tense feeling is there because as soon as a ton of players fall into the world of the game, all are supposed to scavenge for whatever weapon, armor, throwables, attachments and ammo they can find, before their enemy is armed. Throughout the match, there is a feeling of being exposed to the enemy. There has almost never been any sort of superpower for the players. Though, with the new Fortnite Endgame event by Epic Games, you can defend or invade the Earth.
Unlike last year’s Infinity War crossover event, Epic Games has brought changes to this event, making it better in all ways. They have made it so that even the player that loses the match could have fun. The Infinity War crossover event had much imbalance. You were one of many of different players trying to defeat, but mostly avoid, the lucky player who had the powers of Thanos, with the destructive beam from the power stone, massive health bar, and incredible agility. It was almost impossible to find the Infinity Gauntlet that would let you transform into the mad titan. Being Thanos meant that every other player on the map had their sights set on you.
Thanks to the Fortnite Endgame crossover event, all the players can acquire powers of the Avengers or Thanos or the Chitauri, to some extent.
The teams are divided into two groups, each having 20 players. One of the two groups is humanity. If you are in this group, you will be dropped into the map with an assault rifle, a shotgun. You will also have a map which will lead you to one of the Avengers- related weapons. These weapons include Iron Man’s gloves, Hawkeye’s bow, Captain America’s shield, etc. Your health will be triple the normal amount in the match.
The other side are the Chitauri army. They are equipped with blasters with a normal fire and charged-up fire option, jetpacks with infinite fuel but a cooldown. The Chitauri to first touch one of the Infinity Stones will become Thanos.
From there, the battle escalates in satisfying fashion. The humanity side have infinite lives. The villain side have a total of 100 lives. This side can start endgame situation by finding and taking all six Infinity Stones from the entire map, taking away humanity’s perk of infinite lives. By the end of a match, there are typically about 50 or more Chitauri and Thanos pressing down on the 15 to 20 heroes as they defend the final Infinity Stone. Obviously, the combat is satisfyingly overwhelming. With energy beams flying everywhere, players flying in air with jetpacks and Thanos laying waste, this event is surely unique. This is one of the few superhero mode games that have been able to be satisfying.
Fortnite has already made some tweaks to the game mode.
Balance will be restored in the Endgame LTM:
Thor's ground pound, bash, and throw damage increased from 200/150/95 to 225/200/100
Iron Man gauntlet's blast damage lowered from 45 to 35
Health gained per infinity stone lowered from 25 to 20

This limited time event is worth giving a try if you love the Marvel franchise. Fortnite has given a nice touch which is praise-worthy. To be honest, the only way to make this better is to have this as a permanent option.
