Anthony Scantzor Hodgson, who worked as a coach for Entity, has come up with serious accusations against three of the biggest and well known organizations in SEA.
The esports scene in India and Southeast Asia is infamously conceived to be as muddy. These were reinforced quite recently, when Anthony “Scantzor” Hodgson, who worked for Mineski and GESC.
In a post on Medium, Anthony accused Entity of releasing the entire roster, including him, two months into the contract without paying proper severance (15 days). He also said that the Entity management told him that they weren’t legally obliged to do so, but the screenshot of the contract he posted tells a different story.

He also said that Entity insisted he work on a Tourist Visa. He revealed that the contract was signed under Singaporean laws. He further said that the other players who were released were not paid any severance.
Further, he goes on to accuse GESC of non payment of dues to the winners of the minors they conducted. This accusation has also been made by Team Secret’s Director as well. In the twitter post, a collective of players, organizations and teams have accused GESC of the same.
Scantzor also alleges that Mineski mistreated him. He said he was made to change his accomodation. The new accommodation was infested with cockroaches and had no drinkable water, among other things. He also revealed that despite big one of the biggest esports corporations in SEA, Mineski was paying their players less than minimum wage.
It is quite a lengthy post; you can read it in full here.
Sid Joshi, Manager of Entity responded to the accusations.
He said that all the dues were cleared, and they were made comfortable. He also said that Entity let him go because he bad mouthed Black^, who was supposed to be their new carry while the discord voice chat was accidentally left on and Black^ heard everything. You can read his whole reply here.
He also shared a status on Facebook by a former team member, who is still being ‘cared’ by Entity.
But the Visa allegation, which is perhaps the most serious one, was not addressed by the Entity management. If that is true, it is a criminal offense.
But a thread on Reddit has some comments which bring new things to light. Scantzor denied that Sid has fabricated the incident that happened. Deth, a member of the Entity roster, corroborated this.
LordBoonz, another professional Dota player, also vouched for Scantzor. He had been kicked out of Entity and wasn’t given a flight ticket back home.
A user who claimed to have studied Singaporean Law also broke down how Scantzor and other Etity roster should have been paid severance.
Opinion
This is the kind of incident that Indian esports leaded the least right now, after the whole Forsaken scandal. Entity is one of the biggest gaming corporations in India, and these accusations are really gonna put them in the eye of the storm. Especially when the whole world is watching.

I would actually like to believe Scantzor, since Sid Joshi’s replies are unsatisfactory to say the least and have even been countered by a lawyer. Moreover, his accusations against GESC can be corroborated by Team Secret’s Director’s tweet itself, which lends him more credibility. The Visa thing has not been addressed, which makes the whole thing really shady.
I have myself called Sid Joshi out once in an article before about his conduct on Social Media, but the replies he gave on Reddit dwarf all of his earlier misgivings. He has been completely busted. The fact that Entity is giving preferential treatment and “taking care” of a former player does not absolve them from the fact that they left the team and the coach high and dry after terminating a one year contract in just two months. Deth also said that he had not been informed by anyone from the management that the team had been let go.
This is going to leave another mark on Indian esports, and the fact that Entity allegedly indulged in predatory practices like these is a shame.
