Hustle Castle is an interactive game with auto-combat, developed by My.com which is a gaming/internet related products and services provider. You build your castle while improving units, that summed together makes a strong empire, being able to win in PvP against other players. Hence it’s a resource manager with the additional feature of equipping units. You will also have to train your units, since they have their own level as well. If you enjoy resource management games and grinding for equipment while building your own castle, this game was made for you.
Resources
Gold: main resource for improving, building and developing
Food: stamina system in all mobile games
Castle’s population: according to the number of dwellers you have, and their happiness will have better bonus for gold/food collection
Diamonds: premium currency which make it really hard to obtain. They can be used for speeding up construction/training and other things.
Mana: needed for crafting items
Badges of valor: currency in arena shop to purchase items
Gameplay
Hustle Castle implements multiple genres of gameplay. The game per-se is a resource manager to develop your kingdom as if that was a dungeon. This is similar to Fallout: Shelter’s gameplay. The power of your team shows before joining any battle, the battle as mentioned before is an automatic battle. You have to equip items to your units deployed into the battle and with the support of spells the battle will be resolved.
You will also have quests and by doing them you will be granted with chests. They contain resources and can also drop equipment with different rarity. I will review about items later on this article.
Game modes
The main game mode is the story mode. It is similar to the story mode in all games of this genre – just follow through it to get better items and resources. The story can be divided into monster stages, mini bosses and final boss of the stage
Arena: the game select 15 players for 5 rounds battles. You can choose your opponents and depending on how many victories you have you will get better rewards. You can play the arena with food (stamina) or with tickets. The arena with ticket will be rougher but the rewards will be better. To enter this game mode you need to have your throne at level 5 minimum.
Invasions: You will have to face daily invasions, up to 10, each one bring the prize of a chest that contains weapons from different rarities.
PvP: You can attack another player’s castle. The main defense you will face are the dwellers in arsenal and barracks, so keep that in mind when selecting your target.
Portals: Opening on Fridays, it’s a survival mini-game where you can’t heal between the different levels. Each level will have a different wave of monsters. The rewards in this game mode are items, the higher level of wave you beat, the better will be the item.
Clan wars: If you joined a clan and have 20 or more members, be ready for clan wars. Every 6 hours you can fight in those matches, they have some preparation time, giving two hours to deploy your dwellers into the fray. The second part of the stage is to battle against the other clan. Clans are selected depending on your clan ranking.
Units (Dwellers)
The role of units are:
Tanks
Healers
Archers
The units have stars as rating, meaning the potential for the training of that unit.
Also, dwellers (units) in this game can have relationships.
With those relationships they can produce childrens that will grow and be other units, inheriting the stars of one of the parents. You should keep that in mind when joining your dwellers into relationships.
Your dwellers will have different classes, they can be trained in some specific castle’s rooms. For example, for training the Fighter class (which with each point in this class make your dwellers to be able to wear better gear) you have to go to the specific “Fighter training room”, depending on the level of your dweller the time needed to raise the levels will be higher. At level 12 for example you only require 5 minutes but at level 91-100 (only available on 5 stars dwellers)you will need 5 days per level, so keep that in mind when levelling your units.
Equipment
The equipment in Hustle Castle is the most important part with their level, so always check what items to get and where to get them. Each kind of unit wear different gear, the types are
– Tank items for the obvious tank role, having the highest health and defense points
– Archer items for DPS classes, they have more defense than mage items, but they have less than tank ones.
– Mage items are for dealing damage but also bringing sustain with healing abilities
– Other items: these are items that boost other roles that are not the fighting ones, for example they can boost cookers to produce even more.
The rarity follows this ranking
- Common (Gray)
- Uncommon (Green)
- Rare (Blue)
- Epic (Purple)
- Legendary (Orange)
Each item can be dismantled to bring a shard of that specific rarity. For example, an epic item will bring out a purple shard, with the needed quantity of shards you can craft a legendary item. If you dismantle enough legendary items you can craft other legendary item.
You can buy chests in arena shop to get items and shards
Tips and tricks
- To raise 5 stars children in your castle, a good strategy could be to unify a large bedroom. Bring a 5 stars male dweller with three female units. They will enter in a loop of producing childs. After they are born, if they don’t have the rarity of 5 stars you would drop the child out of the castle maintaining only the 5 stars one.
- In portal mode, the first items you will get probably won’t be better that the one you already have, so I suggest to dismantle them for shards.
- Remember to always check the arena shop and participate in arena since the rewards are really good.
- Clan wars are another way of gaining good prizes if you have enough food to participate. If not I would not recommend doing so.
Conclusion
Hustle Castle brings to mobile games a very specific way of playing a resource manager game. It brings a feature which the community adores, that was brought before by Fallout: Shelter. And it combines that with an auto-battle gameplay. This combination mixed up with a very unique PvP modes is very fun to play.
