The biggest aspect that gamers didn’t like about the Epic Games Store was their refund policy. They had to go through a long & inconvenient process for refunding their games that involved filing a ticket with information like your invoice number, location, account name, etc.
Steam, on the other hand has a much better refund policy. Now, Epic Games has updated their store with the same refund policy as Steam. Unlimited refunds will be allowed as long as the following conditions are met –
- Refund was requested within 2 weeks of game purchase
- Less than 2 hours played
The developers of Epic Games are working on a self-service system for their refunds, but for now gamers will have to go through their support system for refunds.
The Division 2, a recently released title by Ubisoft Games, skipped Steam and was released on the Epic Games Store instead. Epic Games will also be listing other titles like Journey, The Walking Dead: The Final Season, and Hades. The Discord Store is also becoming a rising competitor to Steam, with an attractive 90/10 revenue split for developers.
