DreamHack Mumbai 2018 – Tickets, Invitational Tournament, Prize Pool and everything we know!

DreamHack, one of the largest gaming festivals ever, is happening in India soon. Viacom18 & NODWIN Gaming have partnered with DreamHack for this event and it is all set to happen from December 21st to 23rd in 2018, at NESCO Goregaon, Mumbai.

We are excited about entering another continent as DreamHack open its doors to the first DreamHack India event. The partnership with NODWIN Gaming helps us redefine professional gaming in India where we can offer something exciting and for millions of gamers across the region. This, we believe, will give the pro gamers the right setup to play at their full potential

Tickets will start at a relatively affordable price of 399 INR and will be available to buy from DreamHack.com/Mumbai soon – there’s also a countdown at the website to the event which now presently stands at less than 90 days!

Let’s now have a look at some of the major gaming events that are confirmed to happen at Dreamhack Mumbai.

DreamHack India Invitational – CS:GO & Dota 2 Tournament

The DreamHack India Invitational is the main event of DreamHack Mumbai 2018. India’s top teams will compete in tournaments for CS:GO & Dota 2 for a prize pool of up to 1,00,00,000 INR (that’s one crore!). Matches will be live-streamed on Voot.

KO Fight Nights – Street Fighter V & Tekken 7 Tournament

This tournament will feature a prize pool of 170,000 INR (shared from the main one crore prize pool) which is 17 lakhs for two fighting games – Tekken 7 and Street Fighter 7. Open Qualifiers will be present so all players can participate in this. International players from Japan, Korea and China will be competing here too. Matches will be played on the PlayStation 4 Console.

Live Music

The best of hardcore gaming music will be played here by international artists – all day long. Prepare your dance moves!

BYOC Premium Area

A premium area for LAN gamers will be present where the more enthusiastic players can spend the 3 days with a Gaming Rig, better seats, food vouchers and even a catering service. Kickass Lan Frenzy

At this event, players can bring their personal gaming setup and play together with everyone. A thousand seats will be available and some amazing gaming rigs will be shown off here!

Cafe/College Wars

People from cafes and colleges can represent themselves here to make teams and battle it out against other clans. Clans will be allocated 10-25 seats.

There are more things happening at DreamHack Mumbai 2018 which include Table Top Games, Retro Zone with classics like Pac Man, a Merchandise Store, Bussiness Zone, Streamers Area, Stand-up Comedy and the website lists some TBA tiles which means there’s much more to come.

DreamHack India is going to be really exciting, that’s for sure. But it’s also one of the best things to happen for the Indian eSports scene. We posted this ‘Esports in India is growing exponentially in 2018‘ article back in June 2018 where we reported two ₹1 crore tournaments lined up to happen and now DreamHack 2018 which also has the same prize pool is set to happen in December 2018.

By the end of 2017, the collective prize pool money awarded to players was around ₹2 Crore INR. Looks like by the end of 2018 the number will be much higher than that!
