After the conclusion of DreamLeague Season 10 Minor, 2 new Majors for Dota Pro Circuit 2018-19 were announced – The Chongqing Major and The Stockholm Major. These events are scheduled to take place a few months after The Kuala Lumpur Major.
The Chongqing Major will be the second major of the season, being held from January 19-27th. It is being hosted by StarLadder and ImbaTV in collaboration with Chongqing Cable Networks. This will be the first Valve event to take place in Chongqing – one of China’s five National Central Cities. 16 teams from across the globe will compete for a prize-pool of $1,000,000 USD and 15,000 DPC points. Qualifiers will be held for 6 regions – North America, South America, Europe, CIS, China and South East Asia. Apart from that, winner of The Bucharest Minor will also secure a spot in this event.
DreamLeague Season 11, also known as The Stockholm Major will be the third major of the season, being held from March 14-24th. Organized by DreamHack, this will be DreamLeague’s second tournament of this DPC season and their second Valve major overall. The Grand Finals of the LAN will be played in front of a live audience. Like The Chongqing Major and The Kuala Lumpur Major, 16 teams will compete for a prizepool of $1,000,000 USD and 15,000 DPC points. The format of qualifiers is also the same except that the final spot will be taken by the winner of the 3rd minor of this season.
The Kuala Lumpur Major is set to take place from November 9-18th and we already have announcement of two upcoming majors and a minor. Valve is doing an incredible job, outdoing themselves every year. In other news, Valve made a blogpost yesterday regarding The Kuala Lumpur Major in which they mentioned that patch 7.20 will be released on Monday, November 19th, one day after the Major finishes.
