Diablo is one of the oldest and most popular Blizzard franchises along with Warcraft. Whenever BlizzCon is around, gamers are hungry for information on the next Diablo game. BlizzCon 2018 will be held on November 2nd and 3rd, and right now is the prime-time for rumors on Diablo 4. Unlike the previous two years, this time there is some very fascinating evidence. The BlizzCon showroom floor map was released recently and the Diablo showcase is very close to the central area of the convention center. This is different in comparison to the previous BlizzCon events and it got a lot of fans excited.
These rumors were laid to rest after Blizzard made a blogpost as a reply. Apparently, Blizzard is working on more than one Diablo projects but they will not be announcing all of them at BlizzCon 2018.
“BlizzCon 2018 is almost here and we’ve seen a lot of rumors flying around about our plans for Diablo at the show. These are very exciting times—we currently have multiple teams working on different Diablo projects and we can’t wait to tell you all about them . . . when the time is right. While we won’t be ready to announce all of our projects, we do intend to share some Diablo-related news with you at the show.” – From the blogpost.
Blizzard did mention that they will be sharing some Diablo-related news but it is almost like a confirmation that it will not be an announcement for Diablo 4.
They also mentioned that the Nintendo Switch version of Diablo III will be released on November 2nd, urging the fans to bring their consoles to the event. As and ending note, they thanked the fans for all the patience and support.
Though we are not going to get any Diablo 4 news, atleast we know that Blizzard is working on multiple Diablo projects. There is already a lot of gossip on various forums like reddit that they could probably be working on a remastered version for Diablo 2. Personally, I am really excited for whatever news they are going to share at BlizzCon this year.
