Activision Blizzard announced that Destiny 2 will be free to download until the 18th of November.
Good news for all the gamers out there. You can now own Destiny 2 for life, without paying anything. The game will be free to claim for everyone until November 18th. The announcement was made by game director, Steve Cotton and the pre show for the BlizzCon festival.
Destiny 2 will be free to download from Battle.net. Existing users can claim the game from the ‘Gifts’ section of their Battle.net account. If you don’t have a Battle.net account, you will obviously need to make one. Any new accounts made after 2nd November will need to activate Blizzard SMS Protect before claiming their free copy.
The free download will only have the base game, without any Destiny 2 expansion. It will grant you access to the original campaign, which lasts up to eight hours. Players will also have access to the original Leviathan Raid and the Crucible multiplayer mode.
Gambit free weekend.
Additionally, Bungie will be giving the players to try out ‘Gambit’ for free this weekend, from November 9-11. Gambit is a new game mode that was introduced in Destiny’s expansion, Forsaken. It is a hybrid PvP 4v4 and PvE mode.
This is a great move by Bungie, who is receiving competition from Digital Extreme’s Warframe. This move will surely help them in increasing Destiny 2’s player base.
