The Battle Royale map will be the largest map Treyarch has designed and will feature 10 years of Call Of Duty: Black Ops’ legacy.
E3 is almost a month away and we have been hearing a lot of rumors surrounding the game that are to be revealed. We reported earlier that Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 might feature a Battle Royale mode, and the rumour has finally come true. There will indeed be a Battle Royale mode in the latest edition of Call Of Duty.
The revelation was made at the reveal event of Black Ops 4. Activision is calling Black Ops 4’s Battle Royale Mode Blackout. Design director David Vonderhaar says he wanted it to be different than other Battle Royale games. “For us to even consider this experience,” Vonderhaar said, “it had to be unique and done in the way that only Black Ops can do it.” Whether or not their approach will help the game survive in the market dominated by Fortnite and PUBG, only time will tell.
They also said that the map for Blackout will be the biggest Treyarch has ever made, roughly 1,500 times larger than Nuketown. David Vonderhaar also said that it will feature “your favourite characters, your favourite weapons, iconic parts of your favourite maps” from the past 10 years of Black Ops. So be sure to meet the likes of Viktor Reznov, Alex Mason, Jason Hudson and Raul Mendez again.
Treyarch also said that the game will feature class based character customization from Black Ops 2 and 3, so there will be some futuristic weapons. Also there will be vehicles which you will be able to use on land, sea and air.
The full gameplay has not been revealed yet. For that we will have to wait for E3 2018, where the game will be showcased. E3 2018 takes place from 12 June -14 June.
