Created by Bangalore based Xigma Games, The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands will be out on iOS on march 7th and on March 9th on Steam.
If you are looking for a game which engages your mind as much as it pleases your eyes, you must check out Xigma Games’ next offering – The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands.
The game is expected to release shortly, but the trailer and the in-game screenshots do paint a pretty picture. Literally. It’s minimalist design is heavily inspired by the side scrolling masterpiece Alto’s adventure. You need to play that game if you haven’t already. The game is quite soothing. The developers also mention that they have made a custom soundtrack, which we assume will also be inspired by Alto’s adventure.
Looking at the trailer, the game seems to combine the elements of Terraria and various mechanics from Age of Empires. The developers of The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands have mentioned A Dark Room as one of their inspirations, so we can also expect an RPG element in the story. The game will also have a bit of dungeon crawling and rewards for explorations.
What really caught my eye were the monsters that the trailer revealed. Their design makes them look menacing, yet beautiful. The Bonfire will have dynamic weather, a day-night cycle and the workers will have an A.I which will give them unique personalities. The game will also support Game Centre achievements and leaderboards.
The early reviews for The Bonfire seem quite promising. The game was nominated for the Indie Prize Showcase, Casual Connect Asia in Singapore and was one of the finalist for upcoming game of the year at NGF, Hyderabad.
The game will release on both iOS and Steam and will be priced at $3.99 and $9.99 respectively.
