When we think of games published by Ubisoft, we usually take into consideration, AAA titles featuring open-world gameplay, or games of stealth and action genre. Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed, Watch_Dogs, Prince of Persia; all of these game franchises holds a special place in every gamer’s heart. But for people who are more into city building games rather than cinematic experience, their primary choices would most probably be games such as Rise of Nations and Age of Empires. Now if someone is indeed into such kind of games, I’m pretty sure they’ve played or atleast heard of the Anno franchise. The franchise saw a brand new addition to it’s shelf recently, which is titled Anno 1800.
About Anno 1800
Anno 1800 is a real-time strategy (RTS) game which focuses on city building and resource management. It was developed by Blue Byte and published by Ubisoft. The game was released only for Microsoft Windows on April 16, 2019. As the name suggests, Anno 1800 is set in the 19th century when the Industrial Revolution was beginning to usher.
The game features both single-player as well as multiplayer components. Players must focus equally on all aspects of city building; workers, production, machinery, and military. Trade routes and supply chains must be established to ensure a steady business which is vital for the influx of resources. Since industrialization plays the most important part in this game, players must maintain a balance between building industries and maintaining the city’s natural habitat. Anno 1800 introduced a new blueprint mode to the series. This mode allow players to construct silhouetted buildings without utilizing any resources in order to get an idea about how those structures will look like upon actual construction. The game was met with positive reception upon release since there wasn’t anything much to criticize.

Using the bell, you can scavenge the deep seas for sunken treasures such as gold which can be sold for profit, and other materials which can be utilized for crafting. Speaking of crafting, all scavenged materials can be brought to Old Nate. Old Nate’s workshop allows you to craft advanced automations and sophisticated structures which proves very essential in an industrial civilization.
The Sunken Treasures DLC offers players with a brand new storyline and numerous quests to complete. According to the developers, the new storyline can offer upto 6 hours playtime on average. The DLC also brings hundreds of new items, crafting inventions, and sets.

I've been in love with video games ever since I developed consciousness and that love is what drives me. I enjoy playing games that have good narrative and gameplay, and occasionally join in for co-op sessions with friends. My goal is to become a QA Tester for any AAA game development company and I hope to make it there someday.
