There’s a lot of tiny details and nuances in Dota Underlords which can easily go unseen. Hence I have compiled a list of interesting facts about the game, which many players might not be aware of. I have tried my best to keep this article factually correct. If you spot any mistake, please feel free to drop a comment down below and I will fix it ASAP. Let’s get started!
15 facts you might not know about Dota Underlords
- Apart from the different values of base armor and damage among all the units, some units have special bonuses. I have listed all these units and their special bonuses below:
Viper has base magic resistance of 20 on all levels.
Medusa has base magic resistance of 10 on all levels.
Lone Druid has base magic resistance of 20 on all levels.
Lone Druid’s summon, Spirit Bear has base magic resistance of 10 on all levels.
Enigma has base magic resistance of 40 on all levels and has a base HP regen of 5 Hp/sec.
Anti-Mage has base magic resistance of 30/40/50.
Terrorblade has base magic resistance of 10/20/30.
Lich has base magic resistance of 20 on all levels and has base HP regen of 5 Hp/sec.
Tidehunter has base HP regen of 5 Hp/sec.
Sand King has base HP regen of 5 Hp/sec.
Techies has base HP regen of 5 Hp/sec.
Dragon Knight has a base HP regen of 10 Hp/sec
- Apart from these units that have special bonuses, there’s a few other heroes which have a unique trait. Most units require 100 mana to cast their ability, but the following units require different mana values to cast their spell.
Axe requires only 50 mana to cast his spell, Berserker’s Call.
Batrider requires only 20 mana to cast his spell, Sticky Napalm.
Nature’s Prophet requires only 50 mana to cast his spell, Nature’s Call.
Slardar requires only 75 mana to cast his spell, Corrosive Haze.
Keeper of the Light requires 150 mana to cast his spell, Illuminate.
Techies’ ability ‘Remote Mines’ and Tiny’s ‘Toss’ do physical damage to the target(s). This means that the damage can be amplified by armor reduction, using the Heartless combo and/or Blight Stone(s).
Batrider’s ability ‘Sticky Napalm’ amplifies his attacks by giving them an additional 20/40/80 damage per stack. However, this extra damage is Magic type. This damage can be amplified by having the mage synergy.
- Similarly, Dragon Knight’s ‘Elder Dragon Form’ gives him Corrosive Breath which deals magical damage. This damage can be amplified by using the Mage synergy.
- Note that Sticky Napalm works with all damage dealt by Batrider. This also includes damage through items like Radiance and Dagon.
- The maximum stack count of Sticky Napalm is 4/7/10.
Along with disabling hero skills and items, Doom’s ability ‘Doom’ also disables passives and global item buffs. For example, if you have a Juggernaut on your board along with the ‘Forged in Battle’ global item, he will lose all his additional HP upon being doomed.
Tusk’s ability ‘Walrus Punch’ grants Tusk ‘True Strike’ for the attack. This means he cannot miss his attack (against elusive units). It is also considered as a primary attack, which means that Tusk can apply debuffs like Blight Stone and Eye of Skadi on the target unit.
Blight Stone stacks if two or more different units possessing a Blight Stone attack the same unit. Blight Stone’s debuff lasts for 3 seconds.
- The Eye of Skadi and Shiva’s Guard descriptions vaguely mention that they slow enemies on attack. Here’s the actual numbers behind the slow:
Eye of Skadi – Slows movement speed by 35% and attack speed by 45. Slow duration is 5s for melee users and 2.5s for ranged users.
Shiva’s Guard – Slows movement speed by 50% and attack speed by 45. Slow duration is 4 seconds.
Same goes for the global item, Font of Creation’s description: “Primordial units spawn Eidolons on death. Eidolons are weak ranged Primordial units that don’t spawn Eidolons.” Here’s the complete stats of Eidolons:
- Health: 240
- DPS: 43
- Damage: 50 – 80
- Attack Rate: 1.5
- Movement Speed: 400
- Attack Range: 2
- Magic Resistance: 50
- Armor: 20
- Health Regen: 0
- There are a few items in Dota Underlords which you can only have one copy of. Meaning, the game will not offer you the item again if you already own one of it. Here’s a list of all these items:
Embarrassment of Riches
Age of Chivalry
Fall From Grace
Smuggler
A Higher Class of Criminal
Final Flash
Radiance
Friends and Family Discount
Recruiter
Indomitable Will – This item is unique in that you can only get 2 of this item, after which the game won’t offer another one.
- In Dota Underlords, most items do not generate mana for the user. However, there’s a few exceptions:
The global items ‘Retaliate’ and ‘Tooth and Claw’ both generate mana. Both the debuffs last for only 3 seconds and the duration is refreshed upon hit. Moreover, the damage dealt by both Retaliate and Tooth and Claw is pure damage.
Skull Basher deals 100 extra pure damage when it procs. This pure damage generates mana for the user.
Age of Chivalry’s damage reduction does not affect pure damage.
Maelstrom has a cooldown of 0.2 seconds and Skull Basher has a cooldown of 2.3 seconds. During this cooldown, the item won’t proc.
The rules are the same when used with Medusa’s Split Shot. Although you are increasing the chances of getting a proc with Split Shot, you will only be able to proc it once per cooldown.
Also note that the % chance for basher to proc is the same for both Melee and Ranged units in Dota Underlords, unlike Dota 2.
Shaman Pluck disables the affected unit by turning it into a chicken. The duration of this disable is exactly 3 hops (the unit transforms into a chicken and hops 3 times in random directions, before turning back to normal). This results in a disable of 1.5 seconds.
The global item ‘Soul Sucking Syphon’ only attracts Warlocks and Mages. Of course, the item still works for other unit types, but only Warlocks and Mages will try to get close for the benefit.
